15Mar24: Andy took a break from watching guests….

With the new television stand in place, some things needed to be reviewed for placement. Andy’s scratching post/lounger fits perfectly over where SpongBob used to hide wires. No more Spongebob in photos, I guess, since his new spot is to be determined.

=(^+^)=

Now, back to the post of the day:

The tried and true birdwatching window in the north bathroom!

Birds!

Andy briefly took a bath.

Time to check out what everyone’s doing in the other room….. (I got up from taking his photo and started to leave the room. That alerted Andy to new possibilities elsewhere!)

=(^+^)=

My great-nephew Braedon! I like the way he’s wearing his hair these days and told him so. It is a great look for him at this age (age 12) that he might not be able to keep after he gets old enough to hold an adult-type job. You know how employers are about inconsequential things!

Anyway, I told him about how his great-grandmother (my Mom) dealt with my brother Dick back in the 1950s when he wore his hair in a duck butt style. She hated it (it was sort of a “bad boy” style worn by thugs and ne’er-do-well types and Dad was Chief of Police at the time) but figured just letting him wear it his way then, he’d change it without some hassle later, which was when he joined the US Navy!

  1. It’s good to see Andy adjusting to the changes. He still has his bird-watching window. The phases in life one goes through are definitely interrupted by the military as they force one into their mold.

    • I was surprised how fast he adjusted to change. Perhaps he was so easily situated because he helped put the television stand together, for example. LOL!

I actually enjoyed my three years in the US Army . Of course, I was a military motion picture photographer stationed in then-West Germany and travelled all over that country and a few others doing my job.

        • My variable re-enlistment bonus factor was 0, so there was little incentive to do more than three years. I think the MOS no longer exists, for that matter. While there might have been a promotion to E6 involved – seems that was mentioned at the time, – it would have made me a team leader/ “management” in my MOS, which wasn’t what I enjoyed about being a US Army motion picture photographer. (When people thank me for my service, I remind them I had a near-vacation in Europe and that the people they should thank for their service are men and women who service in war zone. Thank you for your service T.W. I respect the hell out of people who put in their time in any war zone and have real problems with those who faked bone spurs or hide from service to country in any other of many ways.)

  2. A good birdwatching session for Andy, enough to perk any cat up! I like Brandon’s hair! Looks good on him! I think employers should chill out a bit. We were fortunate to be self-employed most of our working lives so didn’t have to worry about hair so much, though the long hours were the pits.
