Hiding in the shadow of the toilet…

…Andy doesn’t ever realize he’s a sitting duck!

The medicine applicators await…

…the more or less compliant Andy. Wrapping him in the towel works wonders that way!

No reason to hide now, but Andy returned to the toilet because I close the door when I first come in. That prevents a chase through the apartment. It has happened!
=(^+^)=
It’s in the shadows where this scenario takes place, yet this post should give you a little idea of how I medicate Andy.
Unbelievably, when he is over by the toilet, all I have to do is walk over there, put my hands under his chest and stomach, and walk back with him to a stool where I dry off after a shower.
Holding Andy up in the air with one hand behind his front legs, I wrap the little darling in the towel with the other. He tolerates this amazingly well.
Andy usually twists and turns his head when I give him the liquid blood pressure medicine with the syringe, but the application of the hyperthyroidism cream on the ear flap goes much easier with the applicator tube.
Aww, look at him all rolled up! When we medicate Catorze we have to pounce when he’s asleep. If he gets even a whiff of what’s about to take place, we’ve had it.
I guarantee Andy hightails it if he suspects medicine time is on!
I bet he does!
Whatever can be done to make it easier on you both! 🙂
No kidding! I think of you and how many cats you have gad to care for over the years and know I physically couldn’t do it
Good thinking, Doug. He needs his medication, even if he’s reluctant to take it.
It’s getting to be more routine, fortunately. I’ll find out if I’m doing well enough when he has his 2nd December veterinarian visit.
Monkey would be good the first time without knowing but then it’s hissing, biting, growling, etc.. lots of fun
They are fast learners, eh?!
Well planned and well done, their Doug. Amazing last shot of the (good) lad!
One tries! Lol!
You done well, mate!
Kitty Taco, so cute! You are a wonderful cat daddy, Doug! ❤️😊😻
I try, John. Sometimes, it seems like I’m the big meanie for how I catch him off guard to medicate him.
Andy knows you mean well, Doug.
we think you can easier move a mountain before you get a pill or drops into a kitty…
And how! I’m fortunate that the pill he would get for high blood pressure can be ground into a powder that is then mixed into chicken-flavored distilled water. It’s easier to give him a liquid than to try to get a pill down his wee throat!
What a business
It wasn’t how I planned to occupy my old age! LOL!
Oh dear Lovely Team, medicating time… not easy. but dear Doug you are doing well, we can’t do as you, especially Cesur , he is very big and to catch him is a chaotic event. I guess Andy will take this medicating everyday…I wish you both to be well, and have enjoyable new weeks, Thank you, Love, nia
Andy is a very mild kitty, which makes catching him relatively easy to catch. The late Louie the ginger cat hated being put in a carrier so much that he could be a huge challenge to catch if he though thst was my plan. I hope all is well with you, too!
Awww, Andy looks so cute … Sounds like you’ve developed effective tactics to apply his meds!
It has helped improve the service!
