He saw me carrying my lunch into the front room.“Andy! Let me set it down, dang it!”Andy was pretty sure there was something of interest on my plate. Finally! I got it over to the end table without dumping it. Yeah, thanks to Andy. I couldn’t set it down on the ottoman first.Andy watched me very closely while I sat down and transferred my lunch to the lapboard.“I suppose you will watch me eat now.”Of course! I knew he’d watch me. I eventually started to eat, but it took a handful of Greenies on the ottoman lapboard to distract Andy.

He hops onto the ottoman just before I want to.put my lunch there, and I have to hyperextension to put it on the end table instead. So far, he hasn’t tried to get close enough to my meal to alarm me, but it is irritating to have to put it first on the end table as it is just out of my reach.
It isn’t as irritating for me since Andy isn’t trying to get to it so much as wondering what it is. If he were a dog trying to get it from me, that would be too much, and he’d be banished to another place.
It was a bit more than I was up for, but I got through most of it. I don’t make hamburgers often because they make a mess to clean up, but they are nice once in a while. This was a mushroom, onion, cheddar cheese burger.
More than I care for. I feed him before I eat to try to stop this behavior, but he follows me as soon as he sees food. I could get the same response at the regular dining room table, though he dies hop onto it. In part, that’s why I rarely eat there.
Your food made him want something to eat, Doug. Distracting him with greenies was a good idea.
I do what works! Well, usually works.
Sorry, What was that with the Burger? I don’t care if the animals watch..Just usually not to close.

I find it very irritating when any animal watches me eat. I will eat elsewhere if needed, Doug.

I meant dogs, sorry Doug. Kitties are. Okay!
No sweat!
Such a sad face on that kitty! Looks like the Greenies did the trick though!
I think that is his happy place!
That looks like a great lunch!

Ha! Food events always draw a kitty’s attention!

How can you resist those eyes?
It’s hard, Derrick.
