=(^+^)=
Aril Fools Day at dialysis started out with the nurses announcing a water issue, so no dialysis would be done that day. I think we patients nearly accepted the opportunity to skip that day till the nurses cheerfully revealed it was an April Fools prank.
When I prepared to leave after the session, I said, “I had thought about pretending I had a bleed-out and returning to the dialysis room to prank you nurses.”
I always sit briefly in an entryway chair just in case I do have a bleed-out from my fistula. I also put my car keys and bill fold in my jacket pockets while there.
While stuffing my jacket pockets, I noticed I actually was bleeding out! No April Fools joke this time! I put my left hand over the fistula and somehow managed to get back to the dialysis room supporting myself on one handlebar of my walker at the same time trying not to bleed on the floor much or any more than possible on my clothes.
The nurses and I got a small chuckle out of the ironic bleed-out that came true, no April Fools joke in the end! Then they cleaned up the blood off the floor and my arm, while stopping the bleeding and replacing the bandages.
While occurring rarely, bleed-outs after dialysis needles are removed and compression is applied to the access points does happen. What a mess! I have become an expert at cleaning clothes stained with blood.
I am sorry about the bleed-out, Doug, and glad that you waited and had it attended.
I am glad you waited and got back in there in time! That was some April Fool’s joke that wasn’t really a joke.
No kidding!

Sorry you had a bleed out. I like the painting of the boys in the background.
It’s a rare but possible thi g wedialysis patients deal with.
The young daughter of an old friend drew that picture of Andy and his late brother. It was a big surprise when they brought it over to me and I was very touched by the gift.

That’ the trouble with practical jokes – sometimes they backfire ! Glad everything worked out k thanks to the knowledge of you and the nurses.
I don’t care for April 1st for that reason – practical jokes don’t amuse me.

Great humorousness in there. I’m so glad you got back in time… Well done Doug!
It’s a short distance from the front door to the dialysis room, but bleeding like hellthrough your fingers, you can leave a trail that brings the homicide detectives! LOL!
Doug Thomas
I can understand your predicament Doug.
You coped so well with it, Sir!
Karma huh?
LOL! It would seem so.

An unfortunate choice of prank
We laugh now…! LOL!

Sorry to hear of the bleeding; glad it was quickly controlled! Andy chose an interesting lounging space. I don’t recall seeing the cool 😎 kitty art on the wall before! It looks like it could have been done in pencil and/or soft charcoal; or a print of some sort … I was a visual artist when younger so I’m curious …
A terrible way to develop a new skill, but I’m glad that you have!
Cool art on the wall!
Oh my goodness, you threatened a bleed as a joke and then a real one happened? 😱😱😱
