My trip to Rapid City turned out to be fast and furious. The recall fix took about ten minutes. The round trip took five hours.
Too bad they didn’t have the recall replacement part when I was up there recently for annual maintenance and another recall fix.
On the other hand, I finished the trip by 10:30 am.
Yes, I plan a nap.

Andy’s water and food are topped off. I will be back home well before he’d need a refill of either. The trip is necessary to have a recall on my care talen care of. I enjoy the trip north this time of year, just as the earth greens up and lilacs are about to bloom.

Andy is a very smart kitty. Every time I come up with a strategy to catch him, he comes up with a way to avoid capture.

…and a suspicious kitty – Andy’s ready to bolt!

I started to do my post for today but couldn’t find my smartphone!
I looked in all the likely places inside the apartment, then thought it might have fallen out of my jacket pocket in my car. I’d taken it with me to dialysis. Not there!

I tried to think of other places inside that I’d been after I came home.
(NOTE: In situations of this nature, you always went places and did things you ordinarily rarely go or do. Always!)
Having exhausted all the likely places, I returned to the place I usually place it, a box with odds and ends of scissors, pens, paper, Scotch tape, a remote for the air conditioner, a remote for the radio, charging cords, AND my smartphone.
I dug through that mess a second and third time then noticed that my missing smartphone slipped over the side and was between the ottoman and the box.
Whew! It is a scary thought what I’d have to do if I didn’t find it. The first thought was how do I notify you and family that I’m OK when my blog and Facebook go unupdated till I could go to the phone store Monday? And how do I call anyone even then because everyone’s phone number is on my smartphone!? I think I will create a telephone directly, on paper. You know how, one more thing to misplace, but a good idea just in case I don’t lose it and need those numbers.

I think a spicey sub sandwich I ate Tuesday caused me a good simulation of flu. At any rate, I felt too sick Tuesday afternoon and night to put a blog post together. I woke up Wednesday morning feeling a bit worse for wear, too, and canceled a car appointment in Rapid City. I turned up the oxygen to 4, from 2, thinking that might help, and it did. But late morning yesterday, I felt OK. Sorry I missed a blog post.

Landlords can do what they want with their property, but tearing out the yellow rose bush changed the quality of my apartment from a home to just the place I eat, sleep, and where I store the things too large or too much to put in my car.
