Louie the ginger cat slept like this. He always grounded himself on something and held his tail in this odd way while he slept. When he died in August 2011, it opened up the door for the kittens Andy and Dougy to have a home. Louie was a great kitty. I still miss him.Dougy died in 2020. Born on Canada Day in 2011, he left Andy (above) and me on Bastille Day, July 14th We still miss him as well. He was a comedian kitty and a notorious explorer if I wasn’t careful and left the door open too long.Life goes on, though, and the happy memories of Andy’s brother and Louie, another Cool Cat, help sustain us.“Boop!”

I feel your grief at losing Louie and later, Dougie, and also share your joy you felt knowing them. Our cats are beautiful souls, memories to treasure.
They can be teachers. Watching how the neighbor’s Grey tabby, Hoodie, stalked birds, I learned how to get close enough to them and managed to handfeed some by pretending to be a bird feeder. LOL!

That’s it, exactly.

You never stop missing them. It just gets less painful
I agree.

Losing pets is how life goes, and it’s good that you still have Andy.
Yes, and he is a great companion!

Pets provide such a lesson about life and death

Awww, sweet memories. Beautiful kitties. I miss all the kitties we had in the past, too.
They bring so many memories and such joy while with us….
