Post 861: in which I sneak photos of Dougy birdwatching…
Dougy never is easy to photograph but it isn’t impossible.
Classic: Dougy closes his eyes as soon as he sees the camera.
…but there’s something of interest outside so he has to open his eyes a little…
“Birdies…!”

Awww look at that beautiful fluffy face. Love the last shot of the bird book below the handsome fella while he is bird watching out the window. I was thinking maybe he is looking them up to see what kind he sees out the window.
I can sometimes get one shot of Dougy with his eyes open, then it’s impossible. He usually runs away as soon as he sees the camera or hears me turn it on.
I don’t blame anyone for keeping kitties inside. It is much safer inside. I would seriously consider keeping any new cats inside permanently. Kali is 13 and very used to going outside but she goes as far as the deck….very occasionally she will leave the deck and partake of the nip at the far end of the garden beside the fence. Shoko only goes to the Lane and the yards along the Lane. She has been shut in the odd workshed and she has a very powerful voice. The owner actually came and let her out as I was talking to her from the Lane. So they are close by. Shoko doesn’t have Kali’s curiosity so she will probably not venture very far….its always a gamble though.
Perhaps he would like a pair of kitty sunglasses. He could see out, but you couldn’t see in.
LOL! Not a bad idea! I’m sure Dougy would look very cute with them, too!

That’s a varied thrush from out your way, actually, though I have seen them here in Western Nebraskan a couple times. They are occasional vagrants.
Funny fellow! Do your boys come out all squinty eyed in the morning, or after a nap? That cracks me up.
Absolutely! Plus, Dougy oftentimes closes his eyes this way.
A lot of mine close their eyes for the flash too 🙂

Birdies are a weakness of ours too!
Shoko
I think I’d have a couple of serious predators if I let the boys go free range, another reason I keep them inside.

I’d trust Andy to stay put but Dougy would wander off for sure!
MOL!😸 Dougy does the same thing I do when I see the camera!!
Actually, this is how I know Dougy is a true member of my family: none of us likes to show up in photos or be around photographers either!
Hehehe!
