Tedious! I have to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours and document any anomolous moments – light-headedness, pain, whatever….
Andy is not sympathetic. He has a heart murmur.
Fortunately, it’s not too heavy, big, of difficult to wear. I thought I heard “three days” when they told me I had to wear it, though it’s actually 24 hours. Whew!
I take it off at 9:10 AM today. I’ll survive.
Good thing I have a kitty cat to reduce my stress level till then! Thanks, Andy!
How ironic, yesterday my doctor told me I have to wear a halter to monitor my heart. This morning I get a like from you Doug. Life eh? You also know some of the same bloggers I do, I guess that’s not too unusual. Take care!
Yes, there are lots of us familiar with each other!
Hope you got good news from your monitoring. I did, but that is tedious wearing one for a day.
I get it next Wednesday, unfortunately right before out of town company arrives!
The worst of it is not being able to shower or get it wet. I hope you only have to weart it one day.
Andy can sympurrthize with you. Mom says her white kitty she had before me had a hurt murmur and he lived a long life of 17+ years. My Grandpa has a heart murmur, but it hasn’t caused him any issues that Mom knows of.
My mother was born with a heart murmur. She only lived to be seven weeks short of 99 years old….
See to it that you do the same, okay?
Hey please visit my blog … it is about lung infection https://wp.me/pblUEu-d
Interesting and helpful! I am aware of these things because I’ve had a chronic condition (Wegener’s granuilomatosis) since 2003 and it was the severe form (kidney, lung, and sinus involvement). I was under the long term care of a pulmonologist until he moved to another state. Happily enough, I’m under his care again through a clinic he serves in a nearby town’s specialties clinic. I have always been comfortable discussing my illness with him (and other doctors), and he told me peretty much everything I needed to know about personal responsibility for my health that your blog discusses. (It is, incidentally, and exccellent reference for people less familiar with the subject!)
Kitty cats are the best for reducing stress. Little angels.
I had to do that once myself. I have low blood pressure. They didn’t find anything unusual.
I still haven’t heard the results on this. I suspect there will be something there, there. I am aware of beats being out of sync, though haven’t noticed any problem because of it.
ya,I got palpitations too but it must of been ok
Had another procedure this morning to determine if I had clots in my legs…. (No, I don’t! Whew!)
very happy to hear that Doug!
Me, too! People with Wegener’s granulomatosis are prone to clots, something I have to be aware of at all times. They (doctors) don’t recommend long trips in planes for this reason.
you always carry Aspirin with you I assume?
No, in fact it isn’t recommended for me. Tylenol is what I can have. Fortunately, I rarely suffer pain severe enough to take anything for it.
Purrayers !
Thanks!
I’ve done that. You feel a bit space age wearing them.
Me, too! I was glad when it turned off.
Better to know with modern contemporay medical helps.
I do hope you will be well. Heart diseases can be cared with very good medicine.
One cat, two kittens for help 🙂
Amitiés
Ywes, heart care is more routine these days than in past.
doodz….we hope dadz test ree sutlz come ak aye oh kay…best fishez two him ~~♥♥
Thanks! I think I am in reasonably good condition and probably will get a prescription to help the condition.
Wishing for the best for you my friend. After my stroke, I had to wear mine for a week.
Ugh! A week would be a pain! I already have to be careful not to get the catheters (for dialysis) dry, and the electrodes for the heart monitor plus the catheters would pretty much putr my who front off limits for getting wet! Anyway, thanks, Jerry!
Best of luck my friend.
Making up for having nothing more than a follow up chest X-ray Wednesday was a trip to the veterinarian for my cat Dougy, who has an eye infection. It never ends!
Poor thing. He deserves some extra skritching.
I agree! He’s been such a good kitty so far that I let him know it. And, yes, I give him lots of scritches, head and ear rubs as a reward!
I hope it’s a minor issue and doesn’t require invasive procedures. Growing old is not for the fearful! Take care, Doug.
Me, too. I’ve had so many appointments, surgeries, hospitalizations, cat scans, X-rays, etc. this past month that I just don’t feel like anything intensive again for a time!
Hoping for good news on the results, Doug. The kitties will definitely be a help!
Thanks! I’m reasonably certain I’ll get a prescription out of it, but you never know.
My dad has a pacemaker, he has no problem with it. Be well Doug!
I hope I don’t have that this time, but I’m prepared for anything.
Hope you get good news. I started with a 24 hour monitor, then they put me on a 7-day one. 7 Days! Yikes! In the end there was nothing wrong. I have an extra heartbeat which is of no consequence but they took some time to figure it out.
You are in our thoughts and prayers for good news, Doug! The cat crew also sends their best to you and the boys.
Thanks! I suppose the best will be another prescription, the worst, a pacemaker.
Hope it all goes well for you!
Thanks! I actually feel fine, but I saw the EKG chart, and there definitely is an irregularity there.
Wishing you all the best, my friend!
Thanks! I needed yet another medical issue to deal with and I got it. LOL!
I hope this heart monitor does not bother you too much and the results be good , Doug.
In friendship
Michel
The monitor is fairly compact, fortunately. I had visions of a huge, heavy device that I had to carry around for three days. When it turned out to be a 24 hour test with a compact device, I felt much better about it!
I am waiting for the results tomorrow
I don’t know how fast I will get my results.
Hope the results are helpful.
I suspect I will be put on another prescription, but it could be as much as a pacemaker to correct it. At this point, I think the prescription is more likely since I apparently walked around and lived with this irregularity for some time without being aware of a problem.
we hope for very good news when you see your doc… cats are the best meds for reducing stress… they still are gods and the purrfect zen masters…
True! Anyway, I think a new prescription is the most likely outcome here.
