Terrific sequence of photos, Doug. At first, it almost looks as if Andy is drinking from a cup, and then it’s obvious that he is exploring it but failing to retrieve ice.
Thanks, Dolly! I love it when Andy is so engrossed in something he lets me do a sequence like that. Moist times, he is aware I’m taking a photo and blinks or turns his head. LOL!

That’s a fact! I suspect kitties see us as somewhat more useful than dogs – opposable thumbs and can openers, after all! – not by much.

Probably was. LOL! Silly cat. I had a sample of a single malt Scotch this afternoon that Andy thought he wanted to sample, too. I let him smell it – he licked his lips! – but, of course, reminded him scotch isn’t for kitties.
Yeah, better taste by far, but it inevitably would have to end up on some surface outside the glass for my Persian-faced kitty to get to it!

I kept an eye it. It was a small piece that wouldn’t have caused too much of a flood!
I’ve had mishaps like that, Michel. The worst one was a plate of pancakes with butter and lots of syrup that ended up on the carpet. I had to draw on a whole lot of words I learned in the US Army to express what i felt at that moment. LOL! I made sure the ice on the lapboard got mopped up before it became a problem.
I am very pleased with this series of photos because of that very reason! One or my more successful captures of Andy’s sweet personality! I’m not always so lucky.
You should gather the most of your posts to make a book “my life with two cats ” “Psychological essay.”
BTW , Doug, on the first photo it looks like you are giving the baby bottle to Andy! 🙂

I’ve tried to get him turned on to Latin American literature, but he insists he’d prefer to try out Egypt’s Mahfouz Naguib’s Cairo Trilogy on the chance he’d like that better. “But! But! But!” I protest “What about Carlos Fuentes or Gabriel Garcia Marquez???” Stubborn kitty! Maybe he’ll settle for Federico Garcia Lorca, if technically Spanish.

Both! I make ice during the hot months and he gets a huge chunk in a water dish so he can enjoy it at his leisure. Mostly, he’ll lick it and drink melt water.
