26Jan21: lost “baby” pictures…of Andy and Dougy the kitty boys

Andy’s the kitten on the left, his first day at his new forever home. Being a baby cat, he already knew he was supposed to walk over keyboards and wipe out whatever I was working on at the time. LOL! He still does that if I’m not careful.

Dougy’s the kitten with his paw over my wrist. That was what he did until he grew too big for the spot by the computer just right for a kitty to stretch out next to his favorite human.

These photos are framed and hanging on my living room wall. I gave them to my mother to brighten up her care center room. At some point, someone put them away in a drawer in Mom’s room. I had no idea what happened to them.

After Mom died, I found these framed photos in her dresser in a drawer. It was a happy find because the photos had been in a computer file that became corrupted. They were the lost baby pictures of the kitty boys .

  1. Finding the boy’s baby pictures was a happy day. These are priceless and bring so much joy and memories of what was happening at the time. Tyebe walks along our radio, turning it on, raising the volume and changing channels. The only cat we’ve ever had that’s done this. It’s a momentary happening so pictures are very difficult to get but I wish I had one.

    • I’ve had those moments, too! The late Dougy used to be hilarious when he took kitty baths, but it took forever to catch it as a video. It makes me smile just to think about it. As for Tyebe…whew! what a clever kitty! I hope you do manage to catch it as a video some day. As a kitty person, I believe you, but all those dog-only people out there need proof. Cats are more amazing than people who aren’t around them much realize, and Tyebe is just something more amazing than usual, I’d say!

  2. I am glad these photos resurfaced again, Doug. What beautiful memories captured here! The computer sitting and keyboard strolling are well-known to our kitties, too! I have lost a few things due to kitties jumping or walking across the keyboard if I am not careful.

A quiet prayer in progress for your mother and brother. I think your father is gone now too? May they rest in love.

    • I totally agree! The cuteness is why I agreed to take not one kitten, but two. (“They play well together,” said the women who had their mother.)
