“What’s on your agenda today, Andrew?”
Andy notes he likes Tashi the Bombay kitty. Deborah, Tashi’s human, says Tashi makes her laugh out loud! I’ve been following Tashi on Facebook and I know what Deborah means!

I recommend taking a look at Tashi’s Facebook posts! So does Andy.
=(^+^)=
I needed groceries yesterday but had the complication of snow.
I typically drive up on the grass to get closer to the door. If I had to carry them from the parking spot, I’d be in deep “stuff”: I just don’t have the “umph” to do that trek any longer. The alternative yesterday was to risk getting stuck in the snow from two storms.
The neighbor’s van was stuck halfway on her parking spot and halfway on the lane the day before, thanks to the “drift” caused by the plow blocking the end of her parking spot, another reason I back into mine after a snowstorm. Front wheel drive usually is enough to get me over those piles of snow. You can see (above) the north half of my “driveway” to put away my groceries and part of my sidewalk on the lower far left where I try to have the hatch of my car positioned to get the groceries out. The VW has a plate on the underside, and that proves to be a good thing when plowing through a snow drift!
“Is the snow too deep or likely to compact so much I get bogged down in it? Or do those Michelin radial all season tires get me through, as their advertisements promise and suggest?” I thought to myself.
You can see how much deeper the snow was on the south side and why I fishtailed! If I hadn’t run over the snow three times before hand, I probably would have gotten stuck. (It seems I did get stuck once!)
I took a test run. OK. I got through. I took a second test run, driving closer to the front door and into deeper snow. OK. I got through with a bit of fishtailing toward the end.
The parking spots were cleared enough that I was able to drive in instead of back up into my spot and still have room on the driver’s side to step out onto paving, not a three-foot-deep drift!
A third test run served to clear a place to step once I returned and parked, a spot I hoped to get out of after I took the groceries in. It was a bit scary, though, because I fishtailed a bit plus that scary icon on my dash indicating my tires were losing contact because of ice came on. All went well, though, and the groceries are put away.
I am glad too dear Doug everything went well. Seems that snow still being there… For you both a nice new week, Thank you, Love, nia
I am pleased my little VW Golf SportWagen handles so well in snow because I am very dependent on it for so many things!
I am glad you got your groceries and were able to bring them in safely.
Mr Andy seems to have developed a romantic interest.
Me, too. I was concerned the snow might deter the easy way of unloading.
Andy’s “romantic interests” were removed back in 2011! LOL!
I haven’t heard of platonic love being cancelled yet, have you?
That’s pretty much the limits of what he can manage!
At least he doesn’t try to climb on top of a kitty girl SIDEWAYS, like Barmalei. It’s a daily occurrence, and it is hilarious, but my husband forbids me to photograph it on the grounds of Jewish law that forbids to witness sexual acts for reasons of modesty. When I remark that Barmalei is not practicing Kama Sutra, but simply has no idea what to do, how to do it, and anyway, has no capability of doing it to begin with, my husband claims that the intent is there, so it falls under the same category. Where the law is concerned, I don’t usually argue with him.
Well, there is that principle in law…. “Ignorance is no excuse”, I think is how they put it.
You should see Beba’s expression when he does that. She would certainly agree with that law.
LOL!
How cute that Andy has a crush.:)
Just a favorite.
The Canadian Bombay Cat has very expressive eyes. She is beautiful .
The lay of snow is impressive and you managed very well, Doug
In friendship
Michel
Yes, Tashi is also very much an instigator of fun and chaos according to her human, my friend Deborah!
I’m glad I was able to manage the snow because there are times it keeps me pinned down if it gets too deep.
Yikes, Doug! I use a cart with a milk crate bungee’d to it in order to haul my groceries the 100 feet or so from my parking area to my apartment. But in your case, any cart would need all-wheel drive in order to get over that snow. Maybe get one of those plastic sleds for kids and use that to slide the groceries to your door? Your building management needs to clear that snow out better!
I have a Radio Flyer wagon with the wooden staves that I bought years ago to bring things from the parking spot to the apartment, but that entails packing and unpacking. The method now of parking on the grass closer to the front door entails unpacking, so is a bit more efficient. As for better snow management, I am posting things that show the inefficiencies and hazards that result from snow and ice on the lane, etc. I’ve seen some improvements.
I suggest getting groceries delivered, if it gets to difficult.
That is an option available on a once a week on Thursday basis. If things become too difficult, that might be a choice to make, though I am a dialysis patient on Thursdays.
That might be good, then. When you return from Dialysis, your groceries would be waiting for you.
I think they deliver in the afternoon. I like shopping, though, because it gives me the chance to comparison shop.
I am glad that your groceries are put away, Doug! The snow makes life difficult.
It is a complication on so many levels!
Tashi is a cute little one! Andy has fine taste in cats. 🙂
I hope the rest of the winter is kinder to you, Doug, although I know some of the worst snows can come in late winter or early spring, even here.
Yes, Tashi looks like a winner! She brings a bit of mischief and new life to the kitty family at Deborah’s home!
Nice picture of Andy today! I’ve been following Tashi awhile, a cutie for sure! Glad you’ve been able to cope with the snow.
Thanks! Yes, Tashi is a sweetie! Getting around in the snow takes a bit of planning and adjustments. Fortunately, I’ve been doing it for decades!
A great shot of Andy and the TV. Congratulations on managing the snow
That’s Tashi reacting to her own photo on the television. I agree that it is a great shot, though, and that my friend Deborah is making good use of her cat observing tome to get such a cute shot!
