07Feb24: Andy’s limits…

Andy enjoys the moment ~ Doug’s rubbing Andy’s head and ears!

Then Doug stops long enough to get his smartphone out….

Off he goes! Andy is in no mood for photos today.

Another warm February day today! Andy enjoyed the chance to watch the scene go by the front door. He’d spend his whole day on the walker seat watching “things” happen outside the front door! Unfortunately, there will be many days it’s too cold out to let him have this fun, so I try to make sure he always gets a front-row seat on days like today when it got into the 50s degrees F/ 12 degrees C again.

=(^+^)=

“Stupid Situations Day” for me. When I tried to lock my car with the remote today, the driver’s door locked, but the hatch remained unlocked! I thought it must be the remote, which I’ve used for almost seven years. The “Lock” button is showing wear, so I thought that and the fact that I recently had to replace the battery might somehow have caused the problem.

After dialysis, I put my walker in the unlocked hatch compartment and then walked to the front of the car. I noticed the driver’s side door was a bit away from the fully closed position. Yep! I’d shut that door over the seat belt, and the car “assumed” there was an open door, so ignored my command to lock all openings!

Why it let me lock the driver’s door is a mystery. It was a happy moment, though, when I realized the remote still worked, and that I need to pay closer attention for things that might get shut in doors.

=(^+^)=

Speaking of shutting things in the door, when I left for dialysis a bit after 4:00 AM, I shut the front door, locked it, and started to walk over to my car. I felt a jerk on my face, then noticed my airline was sticking out from the bottom of the door.

Yes, though I prepared the portable oxygen canister for my trip to the hospital, I hadn’t switched the house airline to the portable canister airline! After saying a favorite curse, I unlocked the door, freed the inside airline, put on the portable airline, and was on my way. (You already know I closed something else in my car door. It must have been my day.)

  1. Kitties often thwart a good photo! 50 degrees is what we had here at the high point yesterday. It does seem the weather will seesaw for a bit before spring.

Those days happen, Doug. I assume the air line was OK after all that.

    • Squashed a bit but still functionable! Yes, the forecast is for warmish weather for the rest of the week, with some rain and snow overnight later in the week. I have the front door open and the walker/ “kitty viewing stand” in place for my darling kitty boy!

    • LOL! Yes, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy would fit right into such a day, though they wouldn’t be addressing the vicissitudes of the day with language like I was using!

    • Very true! House cat, lion, serval, cheetah, whatever, they all spend more time sleeping or doing nothing, then have a burst of a chase after prey…or a Greenies treat!

  2. Some days are just like that! I probably miss more kitty photos than I get for similar reasons. A cat in a good pose turns every whichaway just as I get the phone out and in position.
