I looked and looked in that room for him starting 45 minutes before the appointment, without any luck.
A half hour before we were scheduled to be there, I called the clinic to let them know there was a strong chance we’d have to cancel because Andy was hiding so well.
I called the clinic again at 8:35. It was time to cancel and reschedule the appointment because I was so pissed by this time that I wanted to twist his little neck!
It seemed safer for him that I not have contact with him again Monday morning or bring him in later! We rescheduled for this coming Friday at 8:30.
Andy will be denied access to the south bedroom till after his appointment, damn cat!

It’s odd how they always seem to know
They pick up on clues very quickly. I always take a shower before leaving home, for example, and close routes to escape. If I take too long to close escape routes, he wins.
Like us Doug, Andy goes through a lot. Bless him.
Life can be tedious!
Boy, you’re right!
He was only defending himself, I fear.
Bless him!
I thought he really likes the vet. It’s strange that he wants to avoid the appointments.
He’s good getting there, but not keen on the ride in a carrier!
It is like they can read minds.
They discern a lot by using their kitty senses!
Yes, they always seem to sense when they have a vet appointment. Good luck with the next one. I hope it’s easier.
I hope my preparations are good.
Been there, done that…sigh. Also been known to show up an hour earlier because it was grab the cat when I could or cancel..
Sounds familiar!
Exactly. I was happy the second time worked out, but I’ve had many appointments to keep this month, making the hiding cat incident most upsetting!
Oh, he’s so smart, Doug <3 … and cute! Probably waited till he heard the appt. rescheduled and thought a purrfect time for Greenies. I had a hypothyroid kitty and I'm so sorry for all involved. Carriers are confining and scary. I hope you both get some well needed R&R!
Oh, me too! I have little free time during the week, thanks to the recovery time from dialysis and dialysis itself. I think of Monday as my “free day”, so am not happy to have to have appointments on that day.
I look forward to the end of pending appointments, which is February 14th.
Andy knows very well he has won this round. I have a spooky cat. In my small apartment there are not many places to hide. However, my Tish has found a way to conceal herself and make me worry about where she is until she decides to pop out and appear.
My apartment is small as well, but Andy’s scouted out all the hiding places and places I can get to him!
Is there a mobile vet that will come to you? It seems like with your schedule and only one cat, that might make things easier.
No, though that would be a great help!
I agree, they seem to know! They do get gun shy when they are taken in frequently for some condition, and it sounds like Andy is getting to that point. Hopefully the clinic gets to a point where they feel he is relatively stable on his medication and they can cut back the visits.
I think he I’d, too. I’m asking today what the goal is and how close we are to it. Trying to thread Andy’s medication and appointments into mine is a headache!
They know.
Too well!
they seem to have a ral sense for when we are looking for them to take them to appointments, My grey cat Clancy was the same way, and he’d fight, too. Brats.
Andy is fairly easy to put in the carrier, but it’s everything up to that point that’s the challenge. He is an expert at hide and seek!
Well, I can see that’s very frustrating. Sure hope all goes smoothly for the rescheduled appointment. Lovely pics of Andy!
Thanks! I need a simple challenge instead of a kitty hunt!
So he has a good sense of time
Unfortunately, I think that’s a fact!
Wow Doug, I didn’t know that Andy would have this behaviour. I’m sorry.
I don’t know if he is being bad so much as sensing he’s going to be put in the carrier.
We. Ant know what the kitty mind thinks about…
Unfortunately….
seems he won that challenge…. good luck for friday… all paws are crossed…
Indeed. Not a happy time for me because it complicated my other scheduling for my medical issues.
“The south bedroom” makes it sound like you like in a château, although to Andy I guess it probably is!
It isn’t quite a palace…. Lol!
Do you have an east wing and a west wing?
A south bedroom and bathroom and a north bedroom and bathroom, with a kitchen and living room stuff between them….
