19Apr25: Andy gets good report at  veterinarian’s

We had light snow overnight.
I got Andy ready to go earlier than usual, adding some kitty treats and a fresh catnip leaf to help him get along.
Once we arrived, Destiny took Andy’s blood pressure.
Uh oh! Andy hates having it taken on his tail.
Destiny switched to his front leg.
I photographed his responses…
… while he slowly turned inward in his carrier with each time the cuff expanded!
Last blood pressure check, and Andy’s turned all the way in!
Waiting for Dr. Olejnik.
Dr. Olejnik reviewed results to this point.
Destiny took Andy out of the carrier to weigh him.
Dr. Olejnik checked his heart.
After Dr. Olejnik reviewed her other findings with me, I made an appointment for July 21st at 8:30 am. While I waited for the bill, I worked on photos and text for this blog post. Dr. Olejnik came in and had one more thing to check up on since I was still there.
The check done, Dr. Olejnik helped find the procedure on the computer so a final bill could be calculated.

Andy had a good report this time. His weight is up, his blood pressure was at a better level, and that spot Dr. Dye saw on whatever it was the last time, Dr. Olejnik photographed this time to send to Dr. Dye. She didn’t think it looked any different, but felt Dr. Dye should have a look at it, too.

All those Greenies helped Andy’s dental health, but he does have some tartar build-up on some teeth. The best news for me, other than Andy’s check-up was encouraging, was we get to go three months till his next visit!

=(^+^)=

Oh yes, Andy was a very good boy, as usual, while at the clinic. When we got home, he wanted to get “scritched” on his back, so let me know by hopping onto the cat tree outside of my bedroom!
He cleaned up, too, after his big morning.

    • The one and two month visits were exhausting my finances and me, too. I think Andy’s had it as well. Though he was a very good kitty there, he resisted getting out of his carrier!

  1. That is good news, Doug! Both you and Andy will enjoy some leisure time before the next appointment. It is hard to believe July is only 3 months away. This year is passing quickly.

    • Yes, half a year gone by then! I’m making May an appointment-free month. Anyone tries to get me to make one in May, and I’ll resist, lie, do whatever it takes not to have a May appointment!

    • Me, too, T.W.! I was especially concerned that his weight might have dropped, though he feels heavy to pick up.

  2. Glad Andy is doing well and gets a big break between appointments! But I can also tell he likes his vet and her assistant.

    • Yes, he gets along with all of the staff. In fact he is a kitty favorite that brings them – people no directly involved in his care that day – out from other places when they know he’s there
Surprised me when it happened, but zi know other cats aren’t as compliant as my kitty boy.
