The lighting shows off Andy’s colors beautifully!
Yes! Black cat or not, he has several hints of his mother’s tabby markings and his Birman father’s dark points. The latter were especially noticeable after grooming.

Possibly, though it has been only since his last groomer quit for health reasons that Andy’s hair has been allowed to grow out fully.

I had a black short-haired cat who got a few strands of white fur when she got older. One whisker turned white too.
This just started to be really pronounced recently.
