A light snow piqued the boys’ curiosity. Well, everything does, but seriously, really, they were interested in the new snow.

Andy sees a fresh pawprint in the snow. Just one. What manner of beast made that…!

Slowly, with great caution, Andy takes a closer look at the mysterious pawprint!

“Ew! I recognize that stench! That’s Dougy’s pawprint!”
Yes, before Andy showed up, Dougy came around long enough to stick one paw on the snow, then decide he’d taken a step too far.
“That’s one small step for kitty, and one step too far for kittykind!” Dougy won’t go down as one of history’s great explorers. Not if there’s snow involved.
I agree completely with Dougy. Winters should be spent in front of fires.
Me, too! I’m cold-blooded.
I don’t blame them. It looks so pretty but seems pretty cold… At least they tried, and there is always a next time!
Oh, it was! And poor Dougy actually touched wetness and survived…!
Oh Dougy has spoiled the fun for Andy! They both are cute.
A little forewarning: Tomorrow, Andy ruins it for Dougy in Post 671! (I took photos today.)
Can’t wait to see them.
I probably will post it sometime shortly after I get up, which is determined by my cats. That is to say, dang early tomorrow morning!
I’ll guess Dougy and Andy will never scale Mount Everest! 🙂 Tsuki, maybe…. 🙂
Raining here in western Oregon this morning. All our cats are napping.
No, I fear the boys are too civilized for their own good. They like their creature comforts: a BirBug wand toy, that flat box the grill thingy came in, the top of the blue carrier, that special hidey hole under the Red Flyer wagon…!
I love this! It’s especially funny as I look out the window and Tsuki is using the snow as a litter box as I write. 😀
So Tsuki was the first off the lunar lander, eh?! 😉
My late cat Louie used to go across the way to a flower bed that all the neighborhood cats found had particularly amenable qualities for their discrete use. I called it “Craters of the Cats” because it was pockmarked with all the evidences of cat visitation.
Later, a neighbor decided she wanted to use this unused flower bed for her personal use since no one lived in the place behind “Craters of the Cats”. I mentioned to her I hoped she could get anything to grow there because it had been heavily used as a public toilet by neighborhood cats. “Yes,” she said, “I unburied quite a lot of ‘it’ when I prepared the soil.” LOL 🙂
LOL! Ahh the joys of cat fertilizer. She must of had a very strong nose. 😀
Lots of it was “historic”, well-aged. On the other hand, yes, a very strong nose indeed! A friend once consulted me. His cat used the same spot for a toilet every day. My friend wanted to plant a rose there, but the effort resulted in several dead roses. “What can I do to get a rose to grow there?” he asked. So it goes when you get a reputation as a “know-it-all”! I had no clue, short of taking out a hit on the cat (unacceptable) or letting the cat have its way and planting the rose elsewhere. He ended up planting the rose elsewhere, and the poor cat succumbed to old age. To the best of my knowledge, nothing grows in the kitty memorial toilet!
Ah! I got this one covered. Surround the rose with large rocks. Thus creating an uncomfortable place to stand or crouch. The cat will find a new spot and the rose will be safe. 😉
Excellent idea! Unfortunately, I was clueless about cats in those days, and he no longer lives in that house. That’s one to file in the back of my head, though. It makes perfect sense. (I deliverately didn’t write “purrfect”– erm — well, I intended not to!)
LOL, OH you have to check out my Dad’s post. I know you like these kind of things. I’ts a story about my grandfather. http://wp.me/p5BEfw-G
let me know what you think? 😉
Thanks for the “heads up”, Tom! I did enjoy reading his blog, and subscribed to it as well!
Warning, my Dad can get on a few rants! Hey, he’s German. 😀 I’m encouraging him to write more family history.
I have no problem with rants. I’ve been known to rant myself! I agree on the matter of family history, though, especially since you seem to have a long one.
3 centuries worth! 🙂
I googled your last name, and there is indeed!
LOL! I like when you do Images on google, there isn’t a single picture of me, just my cats and horse pictures. 😀
I’ll have to try googling me. I suspect it will be mostly cat photos, too! (No horses, sadly! Or dogs.)
I love google, it’s so much fun. 🙂
Lots of people with the same name as me come up, but I’m lost in the forest. I did find my videos on YouTube (where I posted them) and a few other places I didn’t realize they were, interestingly enough. Weggieboy brings up the most stuff on Google, but probably very few of my photos since I don’t post photos of myself that often. (When I do, it’s usually hiding behind a cat or a shirt. LOL!)
That sounds like me. I’m always the one behind the camera. 🙂
…by design! Oops! That’s my strategy!
LOL, Hey I like my anonymity. 🙂
LOL! 😉
