Same old routine: Dougy on the table, snooping away, and Andy observing naughty kitty behavior from his current favorite box perch….
Nothing new there!
“What?! What?! What?!” Dougy’s upset because Andy’s winking at him!
Dougy settles down to stew about Andy, and Andy settles down to doze off. No wild chase for now!
Is there something in his eye? Because I think that’s the real reason he winks.
He has nerve damage on one side of his face,so that one eye doesn’t close in sync with the other, sometimes giving the appearance of winking or having something in the eye where the eyelid functions normally. It is a condition similar to Bell’s palsy, and is mild in his case. (I also have a similar condition that was brought about by a herpes zoster infection in 2007. It sounds grim, but mostly it just gives us an odd look if you stare at our faces.

Wow, that’s bad. 🙁 I hope he’s fine.
Yes, he’s fine, though you can see he has this quirk when he’s close by. Same with me!
The boys look good Doug! Our cats give lots of winks and blinks, sometimes hard stares. 🙂
They look a bit rough right after grooming because of the way cat hair grows, but start looking really good about a week or two afterwards, I think.
Snorts and rolls with piggy laughter while giving you a sideways wink my dear friend. XOXO – Bacon
It caused an uproar (low key) here, but the kitty boys never stay upset with each other for very long.
Thank goodness for that. Me and my brother Houdini do the same. We pick at each other but we are brothers in the end. XOXO – Bacon
Good!
people can learn a lot from cats… not efurrything has to end in a wild chase ;O)
How true, Phenny!
haha…they do wink too! Kali winks way more than Shoko but I’ve seen Shoko get a wink in on quiet days. I wonder if it’s code for *go, do something really bad.*

Andy is mum on the subject…
