Exhausted. Such a day. The kitty boys’ groomer changed house rules and no longer grooms kitties, no matter how adorable. They’d already missed the March appointment because of the COVID-19 shutdown, so are quite, um, needing that grooming appointment! Then I got a message saying they recommended another groomer who actually has a mobile service that comes to the client’s home and grooms the pets in a trailer “office” pulled by a pickup. The new groomer was contacted, is delighted to have the kitty boys, but, because of the crush in appointment time availability, won’t be able to get them in till early July. Good enough! The kitty boys will be very much in need of grooming by them, and I will be happy to have the groomer coming to me instead of me taking them to the groomer’s. The service is more expensive, though that is to be expected since it is mobile service.
Andy knocked my laptop onto the floor awhile ago, breaking the hinge. It’s been getting worse, little by little, and now is tragically worse yet. Of course, all this happened during the COVID-19 mess. The place I bought it and would have taken it for repairs (if possible) or replacement is in Scottsbluff, which has the most people sick with the disease and where, in the store where I bought it, one of the first people found to have the disease. As long as I can charge it and the electronics hold up, I guess I’ll just get along with it. What a pain!
Wonderful!
My sympathy on the kitty combing (okay, grooming, but it doesn’t sound as good) problem. My partner’s started grooming the dogs and they look, um, patchy. She got me to trim her hair and we’re still on speaking terms. I’m letting mine grow, and the cat’s self-grooming. And there’s the grooming update from our corner of Cornwall.
I guess we all are getting a bit raggedity these days. LOL!
Ek, when it rains it pours! Hope the laptop holds up and hope the kitties don’t get matted. Keep picturing fur puffs in a couple months.
Stay safe and healthy. We have friends and relatives that have the virus. Most recovered, some were hospitalized, and some passed. We try not to think about it. Kind of grateful for living in Bay Ridge because I’ve heard horror stories about the crowds food shopping in Manhattan. By me we go when it’s slow and there’s no line or nasty crowds. We have more supermarkets. A lot of supermarkets and smaller markets closed when Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s opened.
Sorry you have to wait so long for an appointment and about the laptop 🙁
As noted in the Book of Life, sxxx happens! LOL!
what’s the saying, when it rains it pours ~~~~~ knock wood the laptop holds its own !
That’s a fact! That whole day was one of destruction or minor drops and spills as I remember.
I have seen several mobile pet grooming services around Vegas, worth the extra cost I’m sure. Corona isn’t a disease in my view, the medical community is always in a hurry to classify anything as a disease for their own unsavory reasons.
Dead is dead, no matter the cause. Whatever the cause of the tens of thousands of deaths recently, it is severe and really beyond ignoring.
Something evil is afoot…
Covid 19 leads to raises your body temerature, majes you cough, leads to chest congestion and short breath even when sittin downand doing nothing. And some people even die of it. It spreads through a virus that has been identified. Sounds very much like a disease to me.
Typos are my phones idea…
Yes, and they call them smartphones! More like smartaxx phones! LOL!
John most likely is referring to one or another conspiracy theories going around about the origins of this disease. Like you, I focus on the facts, not the stuff conspiracy bloggers come up with.
A friend has died of it. It’s entirely real.
give Andy the bill!
LOL! I’m sure he would get growly about that!
I get the feeling that at any given moment the both boys are a cats whisker away from going “Tasmanian Devil”!
So do I! LOL!
He more likely’d appreciate a Greenie, but I’d give him a bill if I didn’t know his finances re poor. He didn’t get one of those $1200 incentive checks from the US Government either, or that’d make for a nice replacement!
they give you love and thats worth its weight in gold anyways!
I totally agree!
I’m enjoying the bears and eagles in your posts. You have plans for more videos this year?
Kitties can be really rough on electronic equipment!
Glad you have a mobile grooming service now. It shuold be easier for you and the kitties.
That is a fact. Truth is, they are rough on anything you have! I offer Dougy’s ottoman as evidence since the settee he destroyed ended up having to be trashed.
I have seen mobile grooming vans around. Sounds a lot better than having to get out, especially in an area known for the virus. Can the appointment wait until July??? My laptop does not have the damage of yours, however in the same spot I have a cracked cover and it’s flopping around when I open it. Hoping the power port behaves. The crack was courtesy Delta Airlines. Sigh…
I had a Toshiba Satellite laptop before this one. The case is metal and it is much more durable when dropped. Unfortunately, it died another death. Mine flops around now, too, but the power port is accessible, fortunately. On the other hand, once the COVID-19 business settles down, I probably will replace this laptop with something in a more durable case. Of course, I’ll also be more careful leaving the new one-to-be where kitty boys don’t routinely come around. There is the possibility of a cancellation. The groomer says she’ll let me know if one comes up. Otherwise, I have no choice but to wait till July.
Hope you get an appointment!
It’s problematic at this point, thanks to COVID-19…
oh july? oh my oh my… maybe someone will cancel an appointment and you can jump in? we had the same with the laptop, the power input is broken after the two threw it on the floor… maybe it was wreck something important and expensive day, and we had no clue about this holiday?
There is a possibility of a cancellation and the groomer said she’d contact me if one came up. As for the laptop, the power input is accessible, so that’s not an issue, fortunately! I thought I was out of luck on the power until I discovered the opening had twisted around 90 degrees. Straightened around, and I was back in business.
Oh my, Douglas, that is hard luck – kittens getting matted well into the hot days of summer and the threat, that your laptop might give in … But this, too, will pass my friend.
I can hope!
