Andy entered it as soon as he saw it the day I unwrapped and zipped the two halves together.

I thought that was a good sign he actually would use it. Then, the next day…

…Andy briefly slipped into the “escape doughnut” but came back out. He then stuck his head inside the opening, but didn’t go back in.

He keeps looking at it, the kitty fortress-scratcher-playground-roost, deciding what to make of it.

Will he start sleeping in or on it? Will it become a favorite place to be? Will I need to move it to a place Andy feels is more suitable? Does the ball need to come off? Has he figured out that he can use it as a scratcher, too? We’ll see!
I love the fact that he’s eyeing it suspiciously as if it were an alien life form!
Yes! I even has a spaceship quality about it.
Cats don’t like being rushed into making a decision. 🙂
That’s a fact!
Darned interested in the result of Andy’s conclusions!
He hasn’t taken to it as of the fourth of May, Gerry.
There will be a good reasons behind Andy’s decision, Doug. If only he could speak to let you know. Those eyes of his usually speak to you, I bet? He may catch you out and just get back in it unexpectedly? This may be an Andy ploy? Hahaha!
Hope he gets into it soon, mate.
Andy communicates most wishes well by eyes and body. He doesn’t make too many sounds, though his purr is really loud when I give his back and head a massage in the mornings.
Ah, the Purrs, a positive sign we are doing right! I used to have a purring Cyril on my chest, the moment I’d nod off in the chair, he jump up and warm me up.
Andy purrs, too, though I suspect it has more with reassuring himself that he can get away than to let me know it’s wonderful I’m holding him
Hahaha! Roger-Wilko, understood, Doug, Bless ’em!
Knowing my girls, one would go in it and the rest would go on it.
That’s what I expected most of Andy – to climb onto if for a snooze!
I have seen these advertised on TV and elsewhere, I think Andy will warm up to it in time, Doug. Cats love to hide, it’s a perfect hidy hole!
I hope so, John!
The possibilities for Andy are endless! It looks like an interesting hideaway. I think our cats would probably want the ball removed so they don’t get booped by it going inside.
I put the ball out of the way for the same reason. I haven’t been home enough today to see how Andy responded to that change, but it should help.
Maybe he’s making up his mind on it.
I hope so.
Never ending cat mysteries. For me, visually, the ball could be a problem, but I’m not Andy
I can’t decide if that’s an issue since he has gone all the way in before.
We will see, indeed
…with lots of photos!
Rather than reveal his intentions, Andy will keep them secret until the moment he acts on them. He wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise!
Beyond a doubt!
