Andy is quiet tonight. What’s on his mind? Perhaps he’s picking up on my mood change when the random mug I took from the cabinet for my coffee turned out to be the last “Dougy” mug. Yeah. I’m reflecting on what it was like in my life when I had two kitty brothers. We, Andy and I, miss the comedian kitty boy, the naughty one, Dougy.

Absolutely. I know it was inevitable the day I fell in love with those sweet little fluffballs, yet Andy and Dougy were soooo cute playing together and being kittens! I never learned what caused Dougy’s death at age 9, but think he might have had zoomies in the dark, crashed into something, and caused injuries that killed him.
I asked for an autopsy, even signed a paper making the request known, but got a blank look when I asked his veterinarian later about it. He was cremated without that step bring taken. That, of course, contributed to that unknown sense of cause.
I miss Dougy, too. They always leave a hole when they go, don’t they? They take a piece of us with them.

The unknown causes leave one with continual anguish.

I remember that, Dougy getting cremated without an autopsy. I felt awful for you.
I still have that sense of loss for nor understanding what happened. I guessed an accident.
I think Mr Andy not only picks up on your mood but also shares it, as he undoubtedly misses his brother.
He does. Likewise I pick up on his.
I don’t doubt it. Cats are like that.
I miss Dougy and seeing the boys together.
It was fun!
The memories and missing, always. ♥
Indeed.
hugs to you… we miss him too…
Yeah, he killed furniture, but he was a fun kitty.
Awww, we miss our kitties who have left us too … And I
do think our cats have always missed their buddies/siblings too.
Andy watched a door to a bedroom Dougy liked to spend time in after Dougy died. Even now, he’ll look that way, like he hopes Dougy’s coming out.
Poignant
It is. It is so sad when Andy states at the door like he expects Dougy to shoe up.
I’m sure
