Post 356: Andy’s and Dougy’s teddy bear cuts revealed!

Andy and Dougy succumbed to hunger and revealed themselves. I took some photos to show you their groomer’s art.

Andy: What a pretty boy!

I started to take another photo of Andy, and Dougy walked into the scene. Oops! Flashed! Dougy hates flash cameras, and this little accident made the photo after this one very difficult to take.

Now, this is more like it.

Dougy: Isn't he pretty, too? The teddy bear look is much kinder to the cat thaqn a lion cut, which makes the cat look cartoonish.

...from the Persian Rescue of Johannesburg blogsite, here's a Persian with a lion cut. This particular cat was a rescue and was severely matted.

Cat grass for the boys is something I need to cultivate more regularly. After the stuff I put them through this week – a spa day for cats… – they deserve something extra and special.

Also, the cat grass is coming up., Andy is especially appreciative of grass.

    • I think beautiful is just right, Ruth! I was very pleased with Sarah the groomer’s work because they don’t look significantly different than they did before, though their hair is much shorter. A good haircut!

  1. I hate to say it but they look so comical. I had to shave one last month. The mats were out of control and he hates brushing. I had trouble keeping a straight face for the first week.

    • I totally understand! The first time I took the boys to their groomer, it was the same situation, and they came back…erm…funny looking! I’m glad Sarah the groomer showed me a nicer alternative in the teddy bear cut.

  2. Oh My ! They do look very Handsome and The first one of Andy with his beautiful big eyes is really great . Nobody likes the flash Dougy .. But you turned out really great too in the next pic.. If I could only get rid of some snow …. my guys are wanting to get at the grass outside too .. Me not so much .. another summer of cut cut cut ! But hey anything is better than all this snow !

    • I was pleased with the photos since I took them using bright light by the front door. Most of the photos I take of the boys are in darkish parts of the place, and much of their charm and detail is lost.

Hope the snow’s soon gone for you and the ctas! (And Hobo, too, I’;m sure!) Cabin fever can’t be that fun with your household! (Maybe that’s why Hobo had to intervene in the cat fight…!)

The boy’s’ mother was a tan cat with reddish highlights. Even with all the black, bright light brings that maternal heritage to the surface. Just looking at them, they don’t seem so reddish, but they truly are!
