Post 1124: “Whatcha want?” “Nuttin'”
Andy is a curious little cat. I mean odd. He comes up to me when I’m on the computer or watching television, puts his front paws on my leg or arm, then sits by me just far enough away that I barely can reach him without standing up and reaching over.
I still haven’t broken the code to figure out what he wants. Attention? Me to stop using the computer or watching television to play with the kitty? What? WHAT!?
“What do you want, Andy!???”
“Nothing….”
Of course, Dougy watches me from the desk….
Post 1123: Caturday starts off perfectly…!
One never knows how the day will begin. I gave Andy his medicine, for example, and his usual response is to disappear for the next few hours, for fear I’ll give him more! Today, however, he was Mr. Happy Cat and couldn’t seem to get enough of me.
Andy woke up in a happy mood.
He took a little time to clean up, then ran off for a little snack. I caught him , then gave him his medicine. Usually, he hides from me for a few hours after that. Not today!
Today, Andy came over and stretched out on the recliner arm, where I pet him, scratched his head, finger massaged his back, rubbed his nose and whiskers. Happy times for Andy! He stayed around for several minutes, a rare treat for me.
Dougy was his usual Mr. Mellow Kitty, hogging his ottoman from my feet.
Oh well! Dougy was pleased Andy tied me up because he was enjoying “his” ottoman so much!
I hope your Caturday is perfect, too!
Post 1122: an odd feeling in the air…
Andy’s not sure what Dougy’s problem is, but he looks, erm, odd today….
Post 1121: how I spend my time three times a week…
This is the post I tried to do last Monday but was unable to complete because of photo uploading issues. Thanks to the IT people on WordPress, this finally is ready to go! The solution to the problem – no sheep had to be sacrificed…WHEW! – was to use a new link to this site instead of the one I got back in 2009. Makes no sense to me, but I am pleased to be back…I hope!!!
Dialysis is relatively routine, yet it gobbles up at least five hours at a time, three times a week. Some weeks, side issues to dialysis gobble further time. For example, this past Friday, I had an appointment before dialysis to get my dialysis fistula checked with an ultrasound.
Gad! That light-colored streak across my arm is sunlight, not a scar! My arms’s marked to aid in hitting the spot to get the best source of blood. Notice the cat hair trapped on the bandage???
I like ultrasound appointments. First of all, Peggy, the person who does them, is very time-conscious. If you get there before the appointment time, you may get in before scheduled. Great! But you still wait.
The fellow going down the hallway will have to turn left at the end to get to the dialysis unit. This was one day Peggy was behind time as my appointment was for 9:00.
Friday was a bit better than usual because Beth, the nurse who hooks me up to the dialysis machine, wanted to be there during the ultrasound look at the dialysis fistula. We shared photos on our smart phones and had a nice chat while waiting.
There was some concern about the maturity of the fistula for use and where best to poke the needle in to get adequate blood flow. Ick! But necessary detail, I assure you! Beth wanted to mark the identified sites with a black Sharpie (unfortunate name for the pen…!) so she could poke those spots for my next dialysis session. That was to happen shortly after the ultrasound evaluation.
This is my view in the dialysis unit. There’s a television connected with a satellite television service to occupy us for the four hours of dialysis. The dialysis machine on the right side of the photo is one of six in the unit. I named mine R2D2, though “he” is a lot taller than the original R2D2 in Star Wars. I guess “he” grew up!
Marked up, I marched through the hallway to the dialysis unit. Thanks to the arrows, Beth was able to get good blood flow and I had an uneventful session.
Post 1120: la, la, la…
Still having problems with uploading photos, so this is another retro post of old photos that did upload till as recently as the 13th of August. It is frustrating! The WordPress help people are working on the problem with me, and I hope something comes of it soon.
Till then, here are the kitties!
Post 1119: more historic Andy and Dougy…
Nope, my uploading problem hasn’t been resolved, so here are some more historic Andy and Dougy photos to hold you over till I have my answer:
Post 1118: the ordeal continues…!
I got a response back from WordPress on what might cause my problem importing photos to this site. I tried each and every one of the suggestions, with no change! I will try to contact them for an “in person” review of what came up (or didn’t) when I tried each suggestion. Frankly, if this isn’t resolved, I may simply drop from the blogosphere. I’m SICK of these stupid problems!
In the meantime, here are some old photos to repay you for stopping by:
Post 1117: WordPress issues uploading photos…
I have another technical problem to work through. I’ve called in the happy folks at WordPress to get relief from a problem uploading photos from my computer to this site.
Since everyone expects kitty photos with the text, I feel, well, stripped without new photos that upload. With apologies, then, I post these photos from my media file to plug the time till – soon, I hope – photos can be uploaded to my WordPress media file again:
In Memory o f our sweet Ali
I won’t post my usual today. I am too sad for Ruth and Tim on the passing of their beloved Ali.
Ali was especially good for Tim with his special needs, and both Ruth and Tim will need our love, hugs, and thoughts while they adjust to this loss.
Ali had many medical issues that finally brought her to a point where she was beyond care, though she had excellent care from a veterinarian who went out of her way to try to save this beloved cat.
