Dougy slept soundly while Andy sneaked box time in the new box. Ohhhh! Danger time, Andrew! Dougy came soon after. Andy pretended he was there – next to the box – waiting for kitty treats. Good move, Andy! I had to fork over the loot to complete the deception.
Dougy hopped into the new box, of course. In time – thanks to Andy crunching kitty treats next to the new box – Dougy picked up on the fact that he better get it fluffy butt out of the box if he wanted his share.
Dougy looked and looked and walked right over the treats and looked and found the mother lode of kitty treats, but still didn’t figure out the treats were under his feet for the eating! I even pointed them out to him!
Good grief, Dougy! I even tossed a few in the new box. Andy’s going to be “horking” kitty treats if he eats all I’ve put out for two kitties!
Dougy takes the search to the table – over here, Dougy, over here! – then hops over two packages of kitty treats to get to the floor. I hadn’t intended to trick him out of his treats! He did it on his own.
Dougy was under-whelmed by the hubbub leading up to The Event. What is an eclipse to a kitty boy but another reason to take a nap?
Andy, on the other hand, was out in the dining room watching me clear the mess off the table so I could write a check and have a clean space for my friend Craig and me to eat lunch after the eclipse.
Being a snoopy boy, Andy joined me on the table. Who knows? Maybe there’s another lost new kitty toy up there! He sees something of interest, you bet. Something in a plastic bag, one of Andy’s bad vices. I have to dispose of plastic bags as soon as possible or he will…
…try to nibble them.
Of course, once I disposed of the bag (the glasses had to be set aside, too, before Andy chewed on them…), I had to give Andy a little loving to take his mind off the plastic bag!
And what of the eclipse? I took no photos because I knew a million better would be taken by people with proper tools. It was amazing! Please read my account to a friend in the page at the top labelled “The Eclipse”
Don’t know what to call it, but it grows among the the thistles that have invaded and conquered most of the front flower bed (sic).
Dougy couldn’t care less. He’s enjoying his old favorite, the flamingo-colored tub!
Andy, on the other hand, likes the “real” flowers best.
A weed by any other name…is a flower. I like the yellow one best of all!
Here’s a better look at the yellow rose bush flowers. See why I love, love, love this rose!
Dougy and boxes, boxes and Dougy! Dougy is my box connoisseur. Andy likes boxes, too, but he isn’t as obsessed with them as Dougy.
Dougy loved, loved, loved this box…then I trashed it!
“Tough stuff, brother! I was here first!” Dougy doesn’t share his boxes with Andy.
Dougy holds out hope of recovering his prized box….
Andy holds steady. It’s his fort now! Mwahahahaha!
Dougy’s a box connoisseur!
Hiding in the skinny box…. Dougy waits for toes to come by.
Dougy takes the box first; Andy wants it.
Hee! Hee! There were several boxes to choose from, and Andy manages to get one for himself!
Dougy loves his salmon-colored tub, too! (At least it isn’t an ugly box, I think.)
I couldn’t believe it. Andy slipped into Dougy’s hidey hole again! Where”s Dougy?
In his tub, of course!
I have another technical problem to work through. I’ve called in the happy folks at WordPress to get relief from a problem uploading photos from my computer to this site.
Since everyone expects kitty photos with the text, I feel, well, stripped without new photos that upload. With apologies, then, I post these photos from my media file to plug the time till – soon, I hope – photos can be uploaded to my WordPress media file again:
Andy the kitten was so ugly he was cute!
Dougy adores me, though this look is one of anticipation as he demands those fingers on the right scritch him!
“You got it right, human!” Andy flips the bird at me! (I think…..)
Dougy finally gets to enjoy a little peace and quiet!
I’d love to toss some of the boxes around the house, but Dougy (in particular) seems to anticipate the ones I have in mind.
I wanted to toss this laptop box because I haven’t seen Dougy show interest in it in a few weeks. Moreover, when I’ve opened it up to entice him, he’s run away in horror! (Not his idea? Ghosts? Who knows!?)
What’s this lurking in the darkness of the box?!
Could it be…?!
“Dougy! What are you doing in the box!?”
Hey, I brought out the DaBird wand toy, and Dougy and I played a favorite pounce game.
Andy made use of the playtime between the two Dougs to fluff his tail and clean his fur.
Looking hot, Andy! Or should I say “Fluffytail”?
You know cats. Change any little thing in their environment, and they pounce on the change in an instant! Well, there was change here today, and Andy wants to know what it’s all about.
Andy watches from the table…
“What is that…!?”
Dougy prefers to wait it out in his favorite new box.
Nothing much to show just yet. I mounted a window bird feeder on the window Andy likes to look out.
It will take a time before the birds find it and I’m feeding cracked safflower seed and niger seed, both of which attract specific birds to the exclusion of others. I expect American goldfinches and pine siskins mostly.
I’ll take photos when that happens!
It’s a good thing I keep my kitties inside at all times because I thought today was Hallowe’en. I missed it by a
day month! So…here’s a bonus blog to make up for my mistake.
Dougy has lots of options.
“Tub or box or other box or…um…well, that other other box…!”
An abundance of choices for this spoiled American kitty!
Deep in thought: Which will it be? Tub, box, other box, or other other box?
Dougy decides to “tub it”!
“That box sure looks good from here!”
Dougy enters a new decision-making phase…..
Back in the box for Dougy!
Dougy’s exhausted from all these decisions!
Time for Dougy’s morning nap!
A new development: a fly got in the house. Boy oh boy! The kitties are in hunt mode now, swatting at the fly when it flies by, performing amazing acrobatic leaps into the air, and generally getting lots of healthy exercise, something inside pampered kitties can always use more of!
The boys’ favorite people are delivery people, especially those who leave boxes. Such a person visited yesterday, and Dougy quickly claimed his new box!
Woohoo! A new box for Dougy!
Andy is unhappy because he didn’t claim the box first…but there always is the fly!
“Tough stuff, brother! I was here first!”
Dougy dozes in the luxury of his new box: “Life is good!” he thinks, “And it doesn’t have to get better than this!”
