31Jul23: Andy’s dream… or nightmare?

Slumbering Andy is having a dream…or is it a nightmare!

“…behind the wheel of a classic car…”

“This is the Antiques Road Trip!”

=(^+^)=

Andy can’t believe that Doug, after binge watching “Celebrity Antiques Road Trip”, is now binge watching the variation called “Antiques Road Trip”, which features just two antiques experts driving classic cars and…. Well, you get it. It’s more of the same, with two experts in competition to buy cheaply and sell five lots of antiques for the best price. A lot less chatter during the auctions, of course, since fewer people are involved. Doug likes that better so plans to watch all 27 seasons worth of the program. Or maybe he should write it “programmes”. Either way, Andy’s not amused or, as Doug would put it now, “Andy’s not chuffed that I’m binge watching yet another BBC antiques series from start to finish.”

30Jul23: Cannula do, cannula don’t!

Andy senses it is meant for him….

Doug’s putting the cannula back on; Andy’s alert to it.

RAWR!

You have to be aware of the play potential everything has to a kitty!

=(^+^)=

After living with kitties since 2009, you’d expect me to be more alert to things like their sense of play and curiosity. Once I had to add wearing a **cannula for extra oxygen, I’ve had to make sure I don’t make it look exciting to Andy because he definitely will go for it if I don’t!

29Jul23: In which Andy is left alone….

Andy didn’t get the memo…

…telling him the Class of 1966 monthly luncheon was scheduled for noontime.

Waiting for lunch, a smartphone mystery got worked on.

Doug tried to smile for the photo….

Menus were studied.

Doug ordered a bacon cheeseburger and potato salad. A big mug of **Fat Tire satisfied his thirst!

Lots of chatter till everyone had his or her meal delivered.

That cheeseburger and potato salad were very tasty!

=(^+^)=

Noontime, last Friday of the month, except when that is a holiday or other reason to reschedule or cancel – that’s when the Class of 1966 luncheon group gets together. It was a bit thin for July, but we had a great time anyway! Afterwards, we drove over to Donna’s for ice cream and cookies. On a hot day, that hit the mark! Gordie, Terry, and Donna are to thanks for paying for the meals, the drinks, and the dessert.

**”Overall, the flavor is a toasty malt with gentle sweetness and a flash of fresh hop bitterness. Fat Tire is made with Willamette, Goldings and Target hops. It has 18.5 IBUs and 5.2 percent ABV. The malts in Fat Tire include Pale, C-80, Munich and Victory.”

28Jul23: Don’t do it, Andy!

Don’t do it, Andy!

Nooooo!!!

I asked you not to do it, Andy.

Psst!

[…which is Catinese for something very, very naughty!]

27Jul23: Andy hates being brushed….

This photo is from four years ago. Andy still runs when I bring out the brushes.

26Jul23: Andy’s day…

The scary water place… when Doug comes out of it and dries himself off, Andy likes to walk back and forth under Doug’s legs to restore “Andy scent”. Then Andy hops on the shower chair to show what a brave kitty he is!

Time for a nap.

Play time!

Eating Greenies is exhausting business! Andy has another nap.

=(^+^)=

There must be more to Andy’s day that this. Pose-sleep-play-eat-sleep. Probably not. In between activities, Doug “scritches” Andy’s back and ears. It’s a living!

25Jul23: “Privacy, puhleese!”

Andy took his kitty bath in the bathroom instead of risking Doug “booping” him while he took his bath.

(Yeah, I “boop” Andy left and right when he is on the front room end table. I can’t resist him!)

24Jul23: the three faces of Andy…

Eating Greenies…

Looking for his toys to play…

Falling asleep on a dime.

23Jul23: busy…

Andy’s not so busy he’d reject a little back “scritch”!

22Jul23: anything can be a toy….

Andy ignored it at first.

Flashing it back and forth in front of Andy’s face helped.

Well, I thought he was interested!

Coban strip compressed into a fat “string” with big wads on either end. It’s no cost entertainment for Andy.

=(^+^)=

Andy was by the front door. I noticed he was acting bored. I couldn’t find a ball of string I thought would give Andy some fun time but came across Coban that had been wrapped on my arm at dialysis. I had the time, so compressed it along the length.

When I showed it to Andy, he became a kitten! Hopping into the air to grab at it, he snagged it time after time.

“I wish I had my smartphone,” I thought. “This would make a good blog post!” Of course, when I went back into the front room to get the smartphone – Andy followed me back there – the same cat no longer acted like that kitten in the kitchen, jumping into the air and grabbing the Coban “toy”. Typical!
