😽 Doug: I need to get 17 yr old ‘Tom Cat’ Washe clipped. He is getting matted hair bad & the vet wants $100+ for up dated shots & √ check up then up to $150 for grooming + up to $50 for round trip transportation ❗️ Do You have any suggestions for grooming ❓ ~Willy
I ended up spending the bucks because neither kitty tolerated me brushing them. Andy still puts up resistance though I’ve tried various types of brushes and combs.
I believe you. As long both you and Mr Andy are happy.

I’m still committed to letting Andy go full Persian from now on. His groomer has been so good with Andy, when I planned not to get that final appointment because of a conflict on the original date, she said she still could work him in on a different date. I couldn’t tell her not to bother! So Andy got the last clipping.

She is certainly a sweetheart, but how are you going to handle matting?

I will be aware of when it’s forming and deal with it. I know where he mats and regularly check. Frankly, since he hates being brushed, I may have to give up on not having regular grooming and get back on some schedule. I’ll find out in a few months. In the meantime, too, maybe I can get him adjusted to accept brushing.

After all, it’s the usual haircut style. Mr Andy is still gorgeous.
His groomer cut it a little longer than usual, at my request, since it is the cold time of year.
The difference is almost non-discernable on photos. Aoternatively, I may need new glasses.
It is very subtle.

It will work out one way or another, I am sure.
Thanks, Dolly!
The pleasure is mine, Doug and Mr Andy.
He looks cute before and after.
He can’t help it! LOL!
He’s a cutie!
Thanks!
Andy always looks handsome!
Thanks!
Brrrr ! Stay warm Andy !
I keep the apartment tasty for Andy. I prefer a bit cooler.
His head looks larger now but he’s so cute, Doug! 😊
I call it his pumpkin head. LOL!
😊😊😂
Now, Andy will be colder. Hope you have lots of warm places for him to snuggle.
I keep the place toasty for him. That always has been a concern.
you look fantabulous… even santa will love that and he brings you 87 extra gifts..
He hopes….! Greenies and ‘nip would take care of 98% of his gift wishes.
Less savage than his usual clipping
Yes, I asked his groomer to cut it longer. It isn’t really much longer than usual after grooming, but the difference is best.
Indeed
Andy looks smaller after being clipped … Still a cutie of course. I have two small sisters (cats) and one looks much bigger because she’s long furred.
It always surprises me how small Andy is in fact! That Persian “floof” really disguises them.
