Andy love, love, loves me to run my fingers up and down his back! I call it “helicopter butt” because Andy’s tail whirls around, caressing my hand. Others call it “elevator butt”, for reasons more obvious in a still photo.

Taking photos while doing this results in curiously satisfying shakes in the photos!

Take a look at that kitty face! That’s Andy’s ecstatic purr~purr~purr face.

Purr~purr~purr!
The predicted highs start with 59 degrees F/ 15 degrees C today; a high of 62 degrees F/ 17 degrees C Wednesday; back down to 41 degrees F /5 degrees C next Sunday.
“Normal” here this time of year is shown in this link:

Before anyone confuses “weather” and “climate”, I’ve added this link:
Andy is one happy kitty!
I hope so!
I want to see a video of the whirring tail!
I’ll try to get it some time. It’s more like a whipping back and forth, with a caressing motion when it hits my arm or hand.
When Louis Catorze slaps his tail around, it’s actually a good sign. I know that with normal cats, it’s a sign of displeasure. But not him.
Andy goes both ways with the tail signals. f the wags are jerky, watch out!
Thanks for the links, Doug, your area has huge temperature swings from summer to winter. How crazy is it that it was so bitter cold recently, and now it’s almost 60 degrees? Wow. Does your device have an Image Stabilisation button?
Yes, for video. It’s set.
I think that is pretty common for cats. Your weather seems pretty warm for January. I grew up north of Chicago, and we were lucky when it got into the thirties.
Friends here noted they got the same result from their kitties when they did this.
Satisfying for Andy, and you Doug. Love it when a cat loves a cuddle or critch.
Me, too!
Bless him.
Yes, those shakes in some of the photographs are “curiously satisfying”.
I didn’t plan them, so the effect was an unexpected delight!
Andy’s face, oh my! I like the little shadowy shakes in the photos. Like visible motion.
Exactly!
