11Oct24:  scary storms, scary times…

Andy was enjoying a catnap when…

…it came on the television. The news was scary.

Andy couldn’t imagine how people in Florida…

…could endure two major hurricanes in less than than two weeks.

So sad! He’d help them if he weren’t just a kitty.

=(>+<)=

One party in the US election spread lies about the recovery efforts. There are reports that these lies impair efforts and potentially cost lives. Sadly, some vulnerable and gullible victims of these hurricanes think their property will be taken by the US government if they apply for available help, among other harmful things. Lies!

Governors and other officials of both parties in all the impacted states have come out to tell their citizens the help is there, that the current US President contacted them early and let them know the help was available and not to despair. America and its emergency services are ready and already there to help!

The cynicism of the politicians who lied about help to gain political gain at the expense of citizens in the path of two major storms appalls me. I hope it brings them the reward of defeat in the election in November.

Further, I pray for the victims who got the double whammy of these storms and failure to seek help because of lies told by an evil cult leader and his minions!

When disasters happen in the USA, true and decent Americans set aside partisan politics and work together to help the victims. That’s the American tradition, just as it is the humane and human tradition worldwide! Andy hopes people remember that and don’t perpetuate suffering with the lies!

  1. I wasn’t aware of the lies you mentioned, Doug because I avoid the so-called news like a plague. So much of it is lies, just like you pointed out, and what these politicians did is pure evil. I remember when politics weren’t so full of outright hatred. America, you are in very deep trouble. Hi Andy! ❤️😻

  2. Along with lots of others, been trying to post and repost the truth as much as I can on fb. Not affected this time but live close enough to know people who were or who know people who were … Hi to gorgeous Andy.

    • It is a pathetic person who creates fear and misunderstandings about recovery efforts. Perhaps laws need to be enacted to severely punish those who do it, especially when lives are lost or affected by it.

  3. And the governors of the effected states made it clear that plenty of help was available and coming, and that they were working in a civil and bipartisan way to get things done and people, pets, property and intrastructure taken care of. It must have been interesting for Andy to see what was going on.

  4. Really this is so scary storms, I am so sad about people there… I think a new city and settlement plans and architectural/construction projects should be included according to changing and increasingly severe climatic conditions. This should be valid not only for you but for all countries in the world. Earthquake, Storm, Flood, rain, and Sun rays… are serious dangers… We are still building buildings on the seashores, the countries of the world should renew themselves in this sense and instead of fighting with each other and political fights with each other, they should deal with areas that will create new projects to make the future safe. … Dear Doug, and Lovely Andy, have a nice day and weekend, Love, nia

    • Building codes are updated for new construction in places like Florida after these storms, but these storms are much more severe and frequent these days. Old construction doesn’t survive.

    • I live in a different part of the US. While weather here sometimes originates in the Gulf of Mexico, it rarely is as large a weather system and grim as hurricanes or as regular. I agree that I’d not want to live where it was a regular feature of life.

Of course, here, tornados are common in season if not as likely to affect such wide swaths of land as a hurricane.
