…I position him to wrap the towel around him. His fight to avoid the towel is tamed down once his front paws are wrapped!
The medications: blood pressure in the syringe on the left and hyperthyroidism on the right, with the dosage clicked up on the applicator tip, which is used to smear it onto the inner flap of Andy’s ear.
Hyperthyroidism medication applied, Andy rests as best he can, knowing what comes next: the mouthful of high blood pressure medication.
The dreaded syringe! I shoot a tiny bit at a time, so he doesn’t choke on it. I also let it warm up a bit before giving it to him. LOL! Actually, it warms up while I try to round up my unwilling kitty.
Andy, after his blood pressure dose, is unhappy and lets me know he’s had it for the day.
Of course, once he’s had both medications, he’s ready to get out of the towel burrito and return to his important kitty business. I carefully let him out of the towel to avoid him repelling off my leg, the source of these wounds I posted a photo of earlier.
Yeah, it heals, but it hurts when it happens.

Today is my first experiment in posting one post for two days. I know several people use my daily posts as one way to track that I am OK, but the reality is there are times I’ve had up to four posts prepared ahead! Three posts ahead is more typical, yet the majority are prepared daily. It’s a grueling effort sometimes. I get worn out, Andy isn’t doing anything new or interesting, and dialysis sometimes leaves me exhausted to the point I don’t feel creative. This experiment is to test if you are OK with me occasionally doing less than a daily post.
=(^+^)=
Andy goes to the veterinarian’s for a follow-up on the 16th, so the post on the 17th will feature that visit.

Ludwig van Beethoven’s 254th birthday is on the 16th. I’ll play the 1st movement of his 5th Symphony in my head while my little Drama Kitty deals with his appointment – duh-duh-duh- duhhhh – finishing with the Choral finale to his 9th Symphony, built on Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Freedom and Joy” poem, an appropriate end to Andy’s follow-up!

You are a veritable kitty nurse, Doug. Well done!
Reading the part about Beethoven, I played “fate is knocking on my door” – da-da-da-dum! – in my head, fighting the urge to jump to the piano and play my version of it.
I don’t always manage to read your posts on the day they are published; rather I collect a few and then read them. Of course, I’d like to know that both you and Mr Andy are holding up well. Also, the more adorable photos, the better!
I know, Doug, and I can only send you my sincere best wishes and many blessings.

Poor Andy. I can’t even describe it if Monkey needs meds.
As for your posts, it’s your blog and how you feel. We follow because we care and most will continue even if not daily.
I will try to do daily posts, but I will reserve the notion that there are times I’m worn out, too. Thanks!
As for Andy and medication time, I’m getting better at meeting those times.
It’s good you gave Andy his medication, Doug. I don’t think he scratched you on purpose, just a result of his hurried escape. Do what is best for you in blogging.
Yes, the scratches are unintended, a product of his desire to escape as fast as possible. I will still try for daily posts, but won’t post on a day if I burn out from time to time.
Thanks for the warning. Post when it is convenient for you and Andy, Doug. Your readers will be here when you are ready. I understand the worn out bit completely.
So good that Andy gets those meds even if he doesn’t agree … Of course it’s fine to do posts whenever it works for you. But I’m glad you told us about doing fewer posts. I do worry if someone who posts on a regular schedule does not show up!

Life put me in that role. I try to do it well, though Andy has other ideas about it!
On this topic, I am glad that your ideas prevail.
It’s a challenge each day, Dolly.

What a business
For sure!
Your blog = your schedule.
I’m really lucky that only PCB is currently getting meds, it’s a shot, and she doesn’t mind it!
I hope I never have to give Andy shots! I could do it, but I imagine Andy would resist.
It’s pretty unpredictable. PCB doesn’t seem to mind the subQ shots. Prec kitties needed fluids, which is a MUCH bigger needle, and all HATED that.
Your health has to take precedence over the Blog. Take yor time. I assure you that we’ll all be here!
Thanks for understanding!

Good luck with Andy’s follow up on the 16th.
Yes, though I will still try to post daily.
looks like he doesn’t like getting dosed MOL, LOL
No, he doesn’t
Hope Andy’s vet trip goes well.
Andy is such a cute burrito! ❤️😻 It is 100% okay to post every other day, Doug. This is your blog and your time, do as you wish, sir! 👍🏻😎

Cats don’t like meds. At least mine never do but it sounds like Andy is good about it.
