09Feb25: day’s end…

Toward day’s end…
…we need quiet time.

08Feb25: Breakfast was good!

Breakfast was good!
Now what?
Purr!

07Feb25: up late…

I made a cup of coffee for me, but my kitty got a midnight snack of wet kitty food.
After a kitty bath, Andy was ready for a snooze.
I wasn’t ready to end my kitty time!
“Uh oh!”
Andy knows what comes next: the Foot Tickler arrives!
Of well. Ear rubs can be tolerated…to a point!
Purr! Purr!

06Feb25: box cat…

Any good box works for Andy!

The link above is to my video of Andy playing in a box. I hope it plays for you. If not. I posted it on Facebook on my page. Search for Doug G. Thomas and the title “A really good box” under a picture of Andy in a box.

05Feb25: cleaning up…

“Take a picture. It’ll last longer.”

=(^+^)=

I know part of the concern about Andy sleeping so often in photos is that he is 13 years old, and that could indicate he is approaching death.

Another death indicator is the cat no longer is able to self-groom or has started to stop grooming. See photos! I can’t believe how supple he is for a cat at any cat age!

A further indicator is failure to eat. Andy’s veterinarian follow-ups reveal he’s putting on weight, thanks to a positive response to his hyperthyroidism medication.

Yes, he will die someday, I will moutn and miss the wee rascal, but he is thriving now.

I hope this allays any concerns.
Of course, Andy likes to use this end table for sleep, too.

04Feb25: Does Andy sleep too much?

There is concern about all of the “sleeping Andy” photos I post.
In this unedited photo, Andy’s eyes are nearly closed, his expression suggests a problem, perhaps.
Hint! Hint! He enjoys a neck rub, and his eyes close in ecstacy!

Also, the places I frequently photograph him at are also among his favorites for sleeping.

Often, when I’m in places when Andy’s being cute and/or active, I don’t have my smartphone with me because I am notorious for misplacing it.

OK! This is how all photos of Andy look in this poorly lit part of the front room. (Notice that Andy is up and alert. I just called his name!)
After editing this photo, I noticed Andy was blurred. Had this been a typical blog post, I wouldn’t have saved the photo unless it was central to a story I was trying to tell photographically.

=(^+^)=

I appreciate the concern about Andy. I always share information about his health or issues at home because I know how blog pets become “ours” over time, and the people posting become blogger friends.

Gunnar

That noted, Swedish blogger Gunnar Carlstedt’s death notice was posted yesterday on Facebook, WordPress, and other formats.

Gunnar was one of my favorites. He posted in Swedish, English, and Italian, the latter a language he decided to learn later in life. He was an educator both as a profession during his work life and in retirement.

His cheery posts lightened my days during this tricky time in the USA.

I will miss this brilliant and upbeat man.

RIP, Gunnar. You were a “mensch” as I understand that term, the best of people.

My condolences to Gunnar’s family. Know that people around this world are sad today because Gunnar passed.

03Feb25: a bit of clean-up

Andy stopped by…
…for…
…a bit…
…of…
…clean-up.
Lick! Lick!
Lick!

02Feb25: Andy thought he’d seen better ones..

Andy often watches movies with me.
Of course…
…some have less interest for him…
…than others.
Uh oh! Oscar winner or not…
…this one keeps losing Andy’s attention.
“How’d you stay awake for that stinker, Doug?”

01Feb25: Zzzz…

What better way to start the new month!
Zzzz….
