10Apr25: a little pause…

It’s been an exhausting day for me, after an exhausting few weeks. I realized I didn’t have anything ready for this post but the one photo (above). That has to be it for this day. I hope a bit of rest will help pump up my energy to give you more typical daily posts.

09Apr25: cleaning up.

Andy stopped by to groom.
Pause.
Pause.
Resume.
Pretty kitty!
.

08Apr25: Andy’s favorite toy, still…

Want to play, Andy?
He inspects the toy, and takes a nibble.
Sniff! Sniff!
The heat’s building!
Starting to take a swipe!
Rawr!

07Apr25: “That’s all??”

Andy’s concerned about the Greenies supply. (There’s a full tub and a quarter tub of them. No crisis!)
He’s feeling much better now that he’s seen the full tub and the quarter tub of treats.
About time for a nap.

06Apr25: just enough…

Andy stopped by.
He posed for me, a hint that he wanted some loving.
Aw, yes!
More!
The tail!
So soft and “floofy!”
The chin!
Back to his back.
When he’s had enough, Andy puts his paw on my hand.

05Apr25: that embarrassing  question…

There’s one question that Andy dislikes.
“Andy…”
“…are you my Meow-Meow?”
That clears the lapboard!
Oh well.

=(^+^)=

Andy is still dealing with high blood pressure.  He has gone on a slightly higher dosage of his medicine. He’ll get another check-up in a few weeks to see how that goes.

04Apr25: a ramble toward a catnap…

Andy took a ramble toward a catnap.
Of course, he had to mark a walker handle along the way.
A hop…
…and a jump onto his newest favorite spot, the printer/copier.
Zzzzz….
Refreshed now…
…Andy stops on the recliner arm…
…for a chin rub…
…and a head and ear rub. Could Greenie treats be next? (Yes!)

03Apr25: Wednesday’s breakfast time…

Andy is used to Bret and me having breakfast together on Wednesdays.
This time, it was blueberry muffins…
…and Andy making his grand appearance.
Bret and I joked about how Andy would hop up on the cat tree because he knows Bret will “scritch” him up and down his back, just like I do for him every morning when I first get up.
Uh oh, Bret! We joked about it, but you know what he wants now!
– Scritch! Scritch! –

Nothing like treating our neighbor as your personal servant, Andrew.

02Apr25: printer/copier kitty…

Andy’s begun roosting and sleeping on my printer/copier.
In the dark.
He knows it would be hard for me to approach him there. Smart kitty!

=(^+^)=

Aril Fools Day at dialysis started out with the nurses announcing a water issue, so no dialysis would be done that day. I think we patients nearly accepted the opportunity to skip that day till the nurses cheerfully revealed it was an April Fools prank.

When I prepared to leave after the session, I said, “I had thought about pretending I had a bleed-out and returning to the dialysis room to prank you nurses.”

I always sit briefly in  an entryway chair just in case I do have a bleed-out from my fistula. I also put my car keys and bill fold in my jacket pockets while there.

While stuffing my jacket pockets, I noticed I actually was bleeding out! No April Fools joke this time! I put my left hand over the fistula and somehow managed to get back to the dialysis room supporting myself on one handlebar of my walker at the same time trying not to bleed on the floor much or any more than possible on my clothes.

The nurses and I got a small chuckle out of the ironic bleed-out that came true, no April Fools joke in the end! Then they cleaned up the blood off the floor and my arm, while stopping the bleeding and replacing the bandages.

While occurring rarely, bleed-outs after dialysis needles are removed and compression is applied to the access points does happen. What a mess! I have become an expert at cleaning clothes stained with blood.

01Apr25: …out like a lion…

When Andy is ready to go…
…you…
…better…
…be ready for his quick departure!

=(^+^)=

April Fools Day. Ugh!

March ended with a bit of light snow and cold. “…out like a lion…cub.”
