20Apr25: day of rest…

Andy doesn’t like to disappoint, but too much is too much. It’s going to be a day of rest because tomorrow is a busy one.

Zzzzz…….

He’s really exhausted.
Andy just woke up.
Well, even Andy needs a moment after getting up to put himself together.
Tidying up!

19Apr25: Andy gets good report at  veterinarian’s

We had light snow overnight.
I got Andy ready to go earlier than usual, adding some kitty treats and a fresh catnip leaf to help him get along.
Once we arrived, Destiny took Andy’s blood pressure.
Uh oh! Andy hates having it taken on his tail.
Destiny switched to his front leg.
I photographed his responses…
… while he slowly turned inward in his carrier with each time the cuff expanded!
Last blood pressure check, and Andy’s turned all the way in!
Waiting for Dr. Olejnik.
Dr. Olejnik reviewed results to this point.
Destiny took Andy out of the carrier to weigh him.
Dr. Olejnik checked his heart.
After Dr. Olejnik reviewed her other findings with me, I made an appointment for July 21st at 8:30 am. While I waited for the bill, I worked on photos and text for this blog post. Dr. Olejnik came in and had one more thing to check up on since I was still there.
The check done, Dr. Olejnik helped find the procedure on the computer so a final bill could be calculated.

=(^+^)=

Andy had a good report this time. His weight is up, his blood pressure was at a better level, and that spot Dr. Dye saw on whatever it was the last time, Dr. Olejnik photographed this time to send to Dr. Dye. She didn’t think it looked any different, but felt Dr. Dye should have a look at it, too.

=(^+^)=

All those Greenies helped Andy’s dental health, but he does have some tartar build-up on some teeth. The best news for me, other than Andy’s check-up was encouraging, was we get to go three months till his next visit!

=(^+^)=

Oh yes, Andy was a very good boy, as usual, while at the clinic. When we got home, he wanted to get “scritched” on his back, so let me know by hopping onto the cat tree outside of my bedroom!
He cleaned up, too, after his big morning.

18Apr25: getting ready…

Andy has to get his beauty sleep.
He has an appointment at 8:30.
Just a short nap will help…
…get him ready for his trip to the veterinarian’s for a follow-up on how his heart medication is working.

=(^+^)=

Bright eyes and really “floofy-
tailed”, Andy is ready to go…
…after one more nap!
Well, two more!

17Apr25: Wednesday coffee and cat…

Andy is really happy because his buddy Bret is over for coffee and blueberry muffins.
Bret knows the routine.
Andy stops by to hop on the cat tree. Then Bret’s supposed to “scritch” Andy’s back!
Andy hasn’t decided if he wants that just now and doesn’t hop on the cat tree afterall…
…so he turns…
…toward Doug.
“I’m here, Doug.”
Hint! Hint!
Doug is too busy talking with Bret, it seems…or taking photos of Andy.
Andy tales off, then…
…returns for a nose boop!
Blueberry muffins and talk over, Bret and Doug say their goodbyes and Andy heads to the frontroom for a nap.

16Apr26: Andy has different plans…

I started to take his photos for today’s post.
Andy wasn’t in the mood!
He hopped up on to the printer/copier, which he regards as a safe place where I can’t bug him.

“But Andy… your fans!”

I guess he needs a little talking to.

=(^+^)=

Andy came back. Is that kitty tears he’s wiping away?
You kidding!?
He’s wiping away eye snot and licking it off his paw. Oh well… he’ll look a bit neater when we work on the next post!

Here is the cleaned up Andy:

15Apr25: always welcome…

Andy always welcomes a face, ear, and head rub!

14Apr25: Just eat them. Andy!

I put out treats for Andy.
He…
..contemplates…
…the Greenies…
…and how best to eat them, I guess.
Sniff! Sniff!
Nom!
All done for now.
“Thanks, Doug!” Andy just ate one as best I can tell. He must have finally eaten his wet food and wasn’t hungry.

13Apr25: why they’re called “armrests”…

Andy has another favorite place to relax.
He enjoys…
…spending quiet time…
…on the recliner armrest.
Best of all, Doug can reach to rub his head, nose, and head!

=(^+^)=

Of course, Andy doesn’t abandon other favorite places.

=(^+^)=

I can “scritch” up and down Andy’s back while he reclines on the recliner arm, too. Andy love, love, loves that, of course.

12Apr25: Andy’s good idea!

Andy took.me out into the kitchen area.
Andy stopped to see if I was catching on.
I first thought he wanted to show me something outside.
Not what he had on mind.
He turned and headed the other direction.
He went into my bedroom. “Close the front door and lock it, Doug, then, let’s take a nap.”

He didn’t say it in English, but he got it across to me in his own way. Good kitty! I do need a nap just now. First, close and lock the door….

=(>+<)=

Or maybe he was trying to tell me the UPS delivery person left a box, and he wanted me to open and empty it so he could take a nap.
Yes! He came right over and crawled in.
Getting comfortable…
…he sorted things out and is settled down into his kitty heaven!

÷(^+^)=

I keep accidentally posting these early, then returning them to the draft stage to schedule them for early the next morning, when I intended them to go public. I don’t have it figured out just what I’m doing wrong, but if you see a post, then it mysteriously disappears. it is because of this mistake I occasionally make. Sorry!

11Apr25: quiet time…

Andy stopped by.
“You want ‘scritching’?”
Silly question!
Eventually, we were done.
He was pleased to have stopped by, I’m guessing.

Yesterday began at 4:59 am. I overslept and was late to dialysis. On a positive note, I got eight hours of much needed sleep! I brushed my teeth, dressed, and made it to the dialysis unit about 15 after 5. Dialysis went without complications.
