We got through the grooming appointment just fine. The report is the boys were very good while there. Like human children, they are much nicer with others than they are at home…!
Dougy whined from the moment I caught him and put him in the carrier till I left the groomer’s. When I returned to pick the boys up, Dougy started whining as soon as he became aware of me. What an actor! Andy, however, was quiet and well-behaved the whole time.
Dougy didn’t cooperate with me for an “after” photo, either. This was the best of those I got.
Look at all that cat hair on the carpet! Now that the boys are trimmed down, that isn’t such a problem.
Today, I can vacuum the carpet knowing it will stay clean a lot longer. When the boys are untrimmed, the carpet needs daily care to look clean.
(Of course, as a guy, I can put up with nasty cat-hair-covered carpet a long time before I do something about it! 🙂 )
You can really see how thick the fur is when it’s that short. And the different colors too.
Yes, though you only see the different colors in strong light. I remember the first time I realized they weren’t, technically, black kitties because I could see a red cast to their hair in sunlight and sometimes even a suggestion of a tabby pattern.
You could wear a white shirt and cuddle with them. You’d probably get a variety of colors. 🙂
Yes, and they’d range from white to black, with many shades of gray, some of red.
Good grooming job on those boys!
Thanks! I was very pleased with their cuts, but I always am. Their groomer is very good. I hope she doesn’t retire as long as I have the boys!
They look so cute!!
Thanks! I think their groomer does a great job!
Do they actually sit still for the groomer??
That’s my understanding, though I have a difficult time imagining either cat being that manageable. The groomer insists they are good kitties when there, though, so maybe they enjoy the attention! (Dougy loves to be brushed; Andy doesn’t.)
Went past a pet groomer today and saw two large hairy dogs strapped to a frame, being blowdried!!!!
Yes, that’s part of the spa day! My cats get baths and blow dried as well.
Lucky them!!
Apparently they enjoy the attention, even with the bath. I suspect the difference is they have a proper pet shower-style bath in a warm room.
Pampered kitties!!!!! That’s what it is!!!
Nothing but the best for the boys, I say. Besides, it helps control three long hair cat issues: poop balls trapped in butt fur, mats in hair, and lots of shed hair. Of course, they also look pretty cute after they are pimped up!
Of course!!!! 😊
As a cat mom, you understand!
Totally! 😊
🙂
They look great! My Snowball didn’t come out that nice last week.
The boys have had several sessions with the same groomers, and everyone pretty much knows how we want them to look after grooming: not shaved, but neater. It’s a teddybear cut.
I get the cold shoulder for the rest of the day I know I’m in trouble because she won’t look me in the eye
They can be petulant, that’s for sure!
They both look beautiful.
Thanks! I was happy with their cuts, as usual. I am fortunate in that they have a really talented groomer who likes cats. Better yet, my cats behave at the groomers, a small miracle! (One I appreciate since they have the option of refusing to groom problem pets…!)
No more fluff? Oh, Dad what have you done? 🙄
They’ll be fluffy again in no time! Next haircut: July 2nd.
Very handsome! Sounds like Dougy knows exactly how to play you!!
I mocked him and called him a big cry baby, but that didn’t change a thing!
Tell Dougy I commiserate with him. My human puts me through the same regimen. He and his Mrs. are always moaning about my Golden Locks left here and there. They clean and gripe, clean and gripe, clean and gripe. Leave our hair where it drops. It chases burglars away by announcing – “Attack cat on duty,” and “Golden Retriever Ready to Rumble.” That will put fear in their hearts! …… Well kind of ……
The boys leave plenty of signs they are around, believe it!
