Dougy sat down to clean up after breakfast. Then he spotted the spider!
He lost track of the spider when it crawled behind the box.
Too bad. I was rooting for a quick and brutal end to Ms. Spider, “Death by Savage Teeth from Hell and Random Pattycakes”.
I just love Dougy boy’s expression when he spots the spider <3
LOL! Yeah! Me, too! 🙂
What beautiful pictures of Dougy (or he would probably say pictures of beautiful Dougy). Here in Michigan there are no poisonous spiders, so they make excellent snacks for the cats.
We have black widows and brown recluses (in part of the state). I haven’t seen any black widows in the house, and would freak out if I did! Anyway, the boys do a good job of hunting safely, thanks to furry paws.
Love the expressions on that sweet face as he is watching the spider. Ali used to catch them and kill them and now she looks at me like-“well get off your butt and get it. ”
o_O
It’s fun for them and entertaining for us! Yes, he puts on a really cute face when he’s hunting!
Yeah, too bad we couldn’t see the spider; however, Dougy’s puzzlement is precious! 🙂
I’m sure he’ll find the spider later.
Ick! I’m sure you are right about that!
In my flat my cats play with the crawly things – and I have to finish them …
The boys generally finish off their victims, then eat them. Ugh!
So did my cat at my grandparents’. These two just pat the spiders, several times – and then they lose interest.
When they find that occasional cricket that slips in the house, they generally pat it to near-death, then bite it till it stops moving. I think they get fed enough that they aren’t really interested in eating what they catch and kill, or, at least, I’ve never seen them eat anything except spiders.
Heehee – yes well, living here on the outskirts of Florida’s swamps I once had a fairly large snake get into my house. It was taking a rest in front of the entrance to my bedroom. Now I had a cat at the time and she was prety good at pouncing on any bugs and lizards that invaded her territory and threatened her human.
She was sitting next to the snake. So I said “Well what are you going to do about it!!!!”. She looked at me with that gaze that said
“Sorry. I don’t do snakes!”.
🙂 Regards
Smart kitty!
I like spiders! But the cats are good at spotting stink bugs! 🙂 Ellie
Theoretically, I support spider survival because they eat garden pests and house flies. As a practical matter, though, if Andy and Dougy spot them first, I say “Off with their heads…and legs…and abdomens…and fangs…and…!”
😀 😀
Got to get tough with them. If they survive to make it outside again, they need to have their “spidey” skills in top form!
Omg!!!! Kill the arch demon (aka spider) O.O
Indeed! And now!!!
Totally agree. I hate them. Unfortunately so does Oli. We had to be rescued of a tiny spider once… Both of us being on the kitchen table sigh.
Could have been poisonous…! (One needs to be careful just in case…!)
Haha Yep 🙂
Shouldn’t it be arach- demon?
Lol possibly 😉
If he gets good at it, you can rent him out. Lots of people want to get rid of them.
No place in the home for spiders…. I’d gladly rent the boys out to commit murder and mayhem on the spider set!
In my case they catch spiders and bring them into my room to play with them before killing and eating them. Yuk!
Yes, they do do that, too! That’s part of why Ms. Spider survived.
Mine never survive. It’s quite grizzly. I have to leave the room. :-{
Yes, there is quite a lot of suffering before the boys are through. There is a touch of sadism in cat predation.
It’s almost like they’re tenderizing the meal. Eek. 🙂
😉 Yeah, that’s it! Nothing that cute and fuzzy could be sadistic!
Right! They’re chefs that take great joy in the preparation of the meal. 😉
You sound like you’re getting a bit violent on the spider there, Doug…. O_o
I just report the preferred method for disposing of them, kitty style! (I recognize they are part of God’s creation, blah-blah-blah, let’em live…wink-wink!)
Oh, I’ve killed my share of spiders…just teasing how you sounded like you’d lost it there for a minute.
I’ve spared my share, too. LOL! (No offense taken…!)
Ms Spider saved herself.
Unfortunately…!
