Andy found a new plaything yesterday when he checked the wastepaper basket by my computer: an empty copier paper package. Yes, he tried to climb inside, and managed to get half of himself in before he found another use for it.
When I saw Andy chewing the packaging, I took it away from him of course. He was not amused.
Andy has the ability to recycle old things . He is a cat, protector of earth 🙂

That is a happy way to view it!
Romeo loves to chew on plastic shopping bags and any other plastic bags he comes across. He’s fast, and I have to be faster to grab it away. The other two couldn’t care less about plastic bags.
Andy is my plastic bag kitty. I imagine you have had to take them away from Romeo, too. Andy is notorious when it comes to any crinkly material. I like fruit juice bars that come in a clear plastic wrap. I have to hide those wraps as soon as I take them off the frozen fruit bars or Andy starts attacking them.
Just like human toddlers, right?
Quite a bit, only fuzzier…! LOL 🙂
I’m in the throes of moving, so there are packing boxes all around the place. Minx is having such a good time using them as tunnels and hiding places before I tape the bottom and start packing stuff. I also shredded a bunch of documents, and the shreds were like a drug to her!
Ha! Ha! What a sweet image that sets up in my mind! (And the nightmare of my cats “getting involved” when I open anything with those packing peanuts….! I guess it’s always more fun when it’s someone else’s kitty!)
My kit kat enjoys a paper shopping bag from Trader Joe’s.
No Trader Joe’s around here, but I bet my kitties would, too!
My two like ribbons. And their uncounted valerian pillows. And ribbons! The odd ball, when I find them under a wardrobe. And did I mention ribbons?
I don’t think I’ve ever exposed them to valerian toys, but they do enjoy string, ribbons, even strips of paper in a pinch!
How adorable!
Thanks! Andy plays well with himself of his brother.
Awwww – what a sweet little dude!
He really is! If Dougy is a comedian cat, Andy is the sweet-natured, naive little guy you want to protect and hug.
Awwww – sounds like i’d love them both!!😺
They are lots of fun, I have to say! I can’t imagine how I managed to luck out and get two really mellow little cats. I suspect the fact they are brothers and were observed to play well together before I got them both is what it’s all about. Of course, a sister and brother to the boys are in another home in South Dakota, and reportedly don’t get along with each other.
I’m glad they get along – if they didn’t, things could get really interesting!!
Me, too. They have their little squabbles over favorite boxes and perches sometimes, but they always get over it in no time. The do play well together.
You’re truly blessed then!!😺
I think so, too!
Actually, anyone with a kat (or two or ten)- is blessed! Only some haven’t figured out out yet!
It took me most of my life to realize I need a cat or ten…! Don’t regret getting the first one or any that followed! They are a hoot!
Aren’t we pawsome??
And how!
MOL! 😸
Yep, we don’t need to have mom spend any stinkin’ money on us for toys. Just give us things you make up mom….the dorky looking rabbit with the green ears is great. The mice with their fur hanging off in clumps is great. Just a rip and a tear and voila…nekked mouse!! I, myself, am afraid of fast moving toys! It’s not natural, I say. What’s that? You’re going to leave, “The Cat’s Meow” out until I get used to it. How cruel can you be? MOL
(((Shoko)))
The Cat’s Meow didn’t hold the boys’ attention for long. Sure glad I wasted the money on it! LOL! I have found, though, that they will play with it if I put it away for a few weeks after they stop showing interest, then they play with it again.
Cats do appreciate the simple things in life. Mine just won a fancy toy and had more fun with the box 🙂
Yep! I do know what you mean! Same with my boys! Their favorite people are the UPS and USPS delivery people when they bring me boxes of things. Both cats crowd me till I open the boxes so they can be first to play in or with them.
I think we all have the expensive toys like the ball on the round tract that lights up which Ali abandons right away for a piece of the inside of egg crate filling.
Ha! Ha! Just like Rhea and Davout, eh?! To think I actually had some of that packaging material and tossed it, thinking it had no value to me or the cats….!
Great idea a box
I wish it was that easy for me
Somewhere between 5/7$ every time I buy a new toy
It’s a racket
It’s like a child
A small fortune before you know it
Yet how can you out a price on unconditional love
Especially when all it takes is ear rubbing
I know what you mean! The boys have several of those toys that I bought and they played briefly with before never touching them again….! I haven’t bought a cat toy in at least a year since I know how they are. On the other hand, new cardboard boxes….! Well, those never go out of style!
