Andy wanted to check the kitchen cabinets.
“Ummmm…no mousies!”
“Maybe this cabinet!”
“Nope. No mousies.”
=(^+^)=
One of these days, Andy, there might be a “mousie”, but today wasn’t the day.
The kalanchoe in the window over the kitchen sink is a reliable winter bloomer. It’s my kind of plant: neglect it all year, water it when the leaves start dropping, and then it rewards me each winter with its lovely salmon-colored flowers!
Perhaps the elusive mousies are wintering in South Florida, and now Pyshka is looking for them.
If they are those cute deer mice, they can stay, but the basic field mice can winter there.
I’ve never met field mice, and thank G-d, we don’t have any of the cute ones, due to Pyshka’s daily efforts.
Andy would release any he caught, I fear! He’s too well fed to need a mouse meal.
It’s good to not have any mice for Andy to find. They can be a problem. He’s doing a good job of looking for the. Over the kitchen sink is a good place for a tropical plant like the kalanchoe, I think.
The kalanchoe seem to find that spot prime. I’ve had to cut it back periodically.
As for mice, the suggestion I hide a toy mouse in there for Andy to find is one I’m working on. When the two friends made that suggestion in their comments, the fun of it struck me as worth a try!
I agree, put a faux mouse in the cabinet, some of them can move! Raarr!
An interesting suggestion! I think I know where there is one.
That is a beautiful kalanchoe, Doug! Adds a nice bit of spring color to winter.
I wonder what Andy (and Doug) would do if he found a real mouse? 🙂
I’d be upset with a real mouse. See one, you probably have more.
That is true!
At least that’s the case in the country. I just assume it’s so in town as well.
Town mice are just as prolific as their country cousins. 🙂
And find as many places to hide in the walls or below the floors.
It’s those in-the-wall homes for mice that are a pain!
That’s true, and they probably are safer from serious predators than country mice.
Andy takes his duties seriously. and no doubt expects payment in the form of Greenies promptly!
And so it goes! Greenies for services rendered!
I think you should put a fake Mousie in the cabinet and check out his reaction.
I think you and John have a good idea!
I am so ambivalent about a desire for him to find a mousie 🙂
I’d prefer he never find a real one!
Those mousies may have gotten advance notice about who was coming to hunt them! They did NOT want to tangle with Andy!
Meant to say, that is a beautiful plant! Nice to have that winter view!
I look forward to it!
I hope they vacate the premises if they are there!
“kalanchoe” …. not a plant we have. I don’t think.
They are just house plants over here, John
Same in the USA.
