Post 688: arm warmer…

Dougy loves to sleep pressed against my arm. Here’s the earliest photo of him doing just that. He was around three months old at the time, and the pattern was set.

(Go ahead and say it now: “Awwww!”)

Sometimes he's satisfied to just be near me.

Sometimes he’s satisfied to just be near me. Notice his adoring gaze…!

Other times he wraps himself around my arm, totally immobilizing my mousing abilities. This photo, in fact, had to be taken left handed, upside down.

Of course, I Photoshopped it a bit for your comfort! This is the original.

Could be worse. When he faces me, he sometimes has happy paws on my poor, naked skin. He digs right in!

He means no harm, of course. Ouch! Kitty love is a rough love.

Post 687: watching kitty videos…

On a cold day (16°F / -8.9°C), what better to do than to snuggle up with Dougy and watch cat videos on YouTube!?DSCN3290

It arrives in a fury! It ripos at the very fabric of the ottoman: scritch-scratch-scritchity!

Post 685: sentry duty…

Just at the break of dawn, before my head clears and my eyes focus, I walk out of my bedroom to see the sentry is on duty.

No doubt the neighbors feel safer, too!

Post 684: …in which Dougy runs amok!

The boys love to look at the snow. Indeed, Dougy likes to go out into it, though I supervise his little jaunts outside. Today, however, I lost control, and Dougy ran amok, intoxicated on that most dangerous of fuels, FREEDOM!!!!

It started like all snow adventures, with the boys crowding the door for a peek outside...!

Dougy hopped up to look out. Andy held back.

A slow but steady snow fall...not much on the ground yet.

I opened the door, and Dougy, of course, headed out!

But Dougy came back around the door to explore the other side of the sidewalk.

After snoioping left and right and evading me three or four times, I finally caught Dougy and carried him into the house! He was not ready to come in!

Later, when I sat down at my computer to report this event, Andy hopped up on my computer and looked down at me, giving me blinky eyes. I reached over and patted him on the head. “Good boy! You are the good kitty, Andy!”

Yes, my little angel Andy waits in the dark, hoping for a nose rub or a "good boy!" Who knows what naughtiness Dougy's up to?

Post 683: Dougy has ballz (metaphorically speaking…)!

Some days, I think the boys put extra effort into messing with each other.

Definitely not Andy....

Definitely not Andy….

Today, it was Dougy's turn to be naughty. "Does Andy know you're on his spot?! I bet not!"

“Does Andy know you’re on his spot?! I bet not!”

Wrong profile...! This could be trouble!

Dougy enjoyed the sun for a few minutes more, Andy didn’t show up, and all is well! Nothing to see here, folks. Keep on moving!

Post 682: Andy watching Dougy watching me watching Andy…or, is it the other way around?!

Andy spots Dougy...

Andy spots Dougy…watching Doug again!

Dougy's doing that creepy thing where he watches Doug (the human one) from the back of Douyg's computer chair...!

Dougy’s doing that creepy thing where he watches Doug from the back of Doug’s computer chair…!

"Aiyee! I'm being watched all over!"

“Aiyee! I’m being watched all over!” Calling 911…! “Animal control…?!”

Dougy moves after Doug spots him, and Andy watches Dougy leave the back of the chair...

“You’re bringing on the heat, bro’!” Andy glares at Dougy.

Dougy watches Andy till Andy notices him...

Dougy feigns coolness while Andy eyeballs him…

Dougy pretends to watch birds after Andy and Dougy (the huiman one) watch him.

Now Dougy pretends to watch birds. Too many eyes watching today!

Post 681: My little darling…!

Some days, my heart bursts with deep love and affection for my little darlings, Dougy and Andy the Persian cats. Some days…!

Sitting at my computer, I can see what's happening in the kitchen by looking in the full-length wall mirror.

Yesterday, this is what I saw…:

My little darling Andy, in the process to tipping a wastepaper basket over.

For those who feel I’m picking on Andy…:

Post 680: Andy’s perch…

It must be great being small enough you can relax on the back of a recliner instead of in it. Andy finds this to be a perfect fit!a1

Best of all, he can watch me from over my shoulder. If I make a sudden move (that is, try to catch him…!), he can escape quickly and with a bound!

He may be small, but he’s a smart little fellow. He thinks things through.

Post 679: small acts of rebellion…

Sougy hoped into the tub Doug (the human one) bought for Andy after Dougy had fits when Andy used Dougy's tub. Andy, of course, doesn't use it, but he doesn't let Dougy use it eaither!

Dougy enjoyed the sun and Andy’s tub. He was getting away with the unthinkable! Woo hoo! (Andy will smell his stink on the tub later and be upset. So what?!)

Doug contemplates the ultimate assault on Andy's sensibilities...!

Doug contemplates the ultimate assault on Andy’s sensibilities…! “What an insult, too,” Dougy purred.

Yes, he’s going to snooze on top of the blue carrier! (“Take that, Andrew James! Take that!”) Pfft!

Dougy sniffed around on the top of the carrier. He thought he heard something -- ANDY?! -- and he froze stiff!

Dougy sniffed around on the top of the carrier. He thought he heard something — ANDY?! — and he froze stiff!

Discretion is the better part of valor. Doug hopped off the carrier and had a mid-morning snack instead.

Sleeping on the blue carrier was just a step too far too soon! He values his tail!
