Post 904: Andy wants attention…

Dougy and I had fun time earlier this morning. I brought out a wand toy he’d not played with for a few weeks, and it was like a new — and very, very exciting! — toy. Woo hoo! Dougy played so hard, he had to take his morning nap a lot earlier than usual today.

Andy, however, just sat it out. Apparently the old toy wasn’t exciting to him. Or he had other interests at the moment. Regardless, I lost track of him till I sat down at my computer.

I felt a thuimp on my leg. Andy was beside my chair, trying to get attention. Or a good scritching.

What a look, Andy! He definitely wasn’t pleased to be left out of the morning’s fun!

Scritched, Andy hopped up on my computer desk to keep track of me from eye level. OK, kitty, I get your point!

  1. Sounds like Kali when Shoko and I play. If, I touch her with the feather wand she’ll shake her leg and run off and clean it. I feel like I took a 10 pound hammer and hit her. My guilt complex kicking in again.

    • LOL! Andy loves to see me in the shower, yet let a drop of water land within a yard of him, and he goes through that paw shake business, too! Since I don’t like to put on a naked show for the cats, I try to direct water his way as soon into the shower as possible.

  2. Poor Andy , he needs a treat. Don’t forget to visit us, we are having a giveaway of all black cat stuff, although I can’t picture you wearing the socks 🙂

  3. Oh Andy does look sad, and wants attention. It is not easy when you have two cats to please. But in my case, with one, she will try and get our attention only when she wants! We would want to hug her or give her belly rub, but she better nap than being with us.!

    • Elsewhere, you’ll read I had a similar situation: as long as he wanted attention and didn’t get it, he bugged me. As soon as I gave it to him, he had enough already, so please stop it, dammit! The little poop!

    • I gave him a nice skritching, then he ran off to the cat tree for a nap! He does like to play with crumpled paper, though I have to make sure he doesn’t chew anything off and swallow it. As noted elsewhere, I play separately with the boyus most times because Dougy tends to take over the play. Andy is a bit timid, so needs to have plenty of separation between him and Dougy so he has a fair chance to play, too! His favorite thing is to get on the seat of my computer chair and grab for a wand top when I swing it toward the arms of the chair. He’ll play that game for long periods! Dougy doesn’t require much prompting or special places to play, but he will change boxes, chairs, or hiding places while playing to add interest to the game, I suppose. .
