Yes, Andy was chased away from the recliner yesterday by Dougy. But that wasn’t the end of the story! Here’s what Andy did once Dougy left the room!
I’d say things worked out just fine. Happy Caturday to you!
I mean it moved like a meatloaf! Then something happened….
Yeah, Andy showed up and the “meatloaf” moved! In fact, it chased Andy off the recliner. Of course!
Andy chased, Dougy returns to the recliner.

Yeah, you big meanie! You should feel ashamed! Andy wasn’t even in your zone and he was minding his business when you chased him!

Dougy has the recliner and that’s all he cares about. In a short time, he will transform again into a meatloaf.
Andy and Dougy regularly spar over places they claim.
=(^+^)=
Dougy’s enjoying a quiet moment on his ottoman.

What?! What!? What!? Dougy’s kitty sense is tingling…
“Andy!”
Dougy steps down to “discuss” the rules around his ottoman. (Technically, Andy hasn’t trespassed, just stepped “too close” to it, as defined by Dougy. That distance changes on Dougy’s whims….)
Dougy feels he’s made his point, so goes off for some kitty food. When he comes back, Andy is positioned to take a run through “Ottomanlandia”, which he does and succeeds!
Shortly after, Dougy follows him into the guest bedroom, where they both share a snooze on the guest bed. The kitty boys are brothers after all!
The kitty boys finish breakfast, then sort out the rest of the morning. Dougy’s usual post-breakfast is to be brushed. After that, anything goes!
=(^+^)=

I brush out a brush full of hair. Dougy flexes his paws, purrs, and really, really, really enjoys the activity!
What!? What!? What!? Dougy hops on the recliner because he senses Andy wants to take it over. (Andy’s just resting behind the recliner, but Dougy’s kitty sense tingles with the impending probable move by Andy!)
Dougy gives Andy a chase, but loses him. Where’d that rascal go? Dougy suspects Andy hid in the guest bedroom.
Andy got away, it seems. Dougy heads for the guest bedroom.
Hee! Hee! Andy’s back where he started, and Dougy’s out of the way. A pleasing development!
Andy hints broadly that he wants to watch videos. I, of course, immediately stop everything I am doing and set him up for viewing.
=(^+^)=

Andy wants to be entertained!
I set the laptop up for viewing videos for kitties, and Andy has a little window of viewing pleasure…
Then, Dougy interrupts! Andy moves to another spot where Dougy won’t bother him, and I move the laptop to the end table. (Andy tries to get on the laptop to catch a bird, and knocks it off the end table before I get a photo of him watching the video in the new position…!)
Andy moves to the recliner, so I move the laptop again. Dougy comes back to his ottoman, but Andy feels secure enough to watch the video a bit longer before he hustles off for a light snack of dry kitty food.
Gad! Kitties sure can complicate simple activities, but Dougy didn’t approve of Andy being so close to his ottoman. You know. Boundaries!
Andy has always used the light stand by my glide rocker as a perch. I think there may be a couple reasons: heat from the three-way lamp, and safety by proximity to me.
That doesn’t prevent a Dougy incursion, however, and Dougy brazenly takes over Andy’s spot this morning.

Andy loves his perch!

“Hark! What’s this!?”
Andy suspects trouble’s afoot or at least on four paws…!

Here comes trouble!
Dougy doesn’t want the light stand perch so much as he doesn’t want Andy to have it!
“Boo on you, Andrew!”

Doug tries to discourage Dougy by putting his coffee on the light stand. Dougy snorts in the coffee….
“Curses! All I did was let Dougy get cat sniff-snot in my coffee!”
A failed plan and Dougy takes over the prize!

Here he is, the little kitty prince!
Dougy is very pleased with himself!
Dougy marked his favorite box by scratching it, but both kitty boys had a box when you last saw them.
Before this happened, though, Andy spent some time alone with the prized boxes, and that was possible because Dougy decided to leave the area “for kitty reasons”. (Who knows?)

Of course, it’s so quiet. Where’s that Dougy and what’s up with him?! (Andy knows better than to get too comfortable!)

The main thing is Andy now has claim to the smaller box. Dougy’s still oblivious to the implications: He left the area so now he has to share one box with his brother!
All in all, the box delivery is a success, with both kitty brothers getting a box of his own.
