Post 1018: “Dull City” here today…

I got my groceries in for the week this morning. I hit the produce department hard, and scored lots of yummy veggies, including green beans I will steam for supper tonight.

I haven’t worked out what else I’ll have with the steamed green beans, but I’m thinking rice and meatballs will be included in some form or other.

With lots of Photoshopping, the black blob becomes a cat!

  1. I need to try your way of doing green beans. I’ve been off them after having too many servings of bland, boiled to death beans but you made them sound appetizing.

    • I steam them because of that very thing you mention: beans boiled to death. I like them a bit firm and dress them with butter, pepper, and herbs. Salt is something I don’t use much of or any,m depending on the food. Ideally (I think or understand), I wouldn’t add any on anything if I follow my diet for dialysis patients correctly..

        • One wouldn’t know. I am allowed to eat virtually anything on the forbidden list infrequently. I find it easier to follow the recommendations and not eat things I like that are not recommended (chocolate, for example). Once a month, I get a print out of how I’m doing for several different measures they track. The unit’s Physician’s Assistant reviews this with me, and makes recommendations as needed. So far, I’ve been on track for most measures, and need to increase my exposure to a couple.

  2. Now, rice, meatballs and green beans sounds delicious. We are having roast chicky and I haven’t figured out the rest yet. We might do it on the BBQ with a can of ginger ale up its butt. The chicky is so moist and delish this way. How do you catch your kitties with their tongues out? I have one of Shoko but that was a fluke.

    • I take dozens of photos to get that occasional tongue out. Part of it is watching for when they are washing themselves. From there, you just keep shooting, and hope you get a tongue out!
