Post 1046: the lost photos…and a new gizmo

Back in April, I lost one of my drives. Today I finally took the computer in for repairs. Well, for a fix, because the repair for that specific type of port no longer exists. The fix, however, does, and it is yet another gizmo with a wire that fits a specific connection on my computer. What a tangled mess!

I’ve tried to go 100% wireless over the years, yet, well, here we go! But I can pull up photos off the SD memory card again, hence the title above. I thought the photos were pretty much lost forever, though I guarantee they aren’t that wonderful. First, though, here’s the gizmo:

You insert the SD memory card on the side.

This isn't one of the lost photos. It is, however, a cute one of Dougy waiting to be scritched.

Well, shxt! I saved the lost photos to the SD card in the USB gizmo, then put it back in my camera, where I outsmarted myself and reformatted the SD memory card: The photos truly are lost now!  Aren’t you glad they stunk and weren’t worth posting?! Grr!

Post 1045: trash diving…

There are certain behaviors I didn’t associate with cats until I got Andy and Dougy. Butt sniffing, for example. They do it, you know! And trash diving…!

Yes, trash diving. The first time I observed this in cats, the bad kitty was Dougy. Then I observed Andy do it. What?!

I hear a rustle on my left...!

I hear a rustle on my left…!

Hey! Hey! Hey! Get out of there, Andy! Kitties don't trash dive! (Well, I don't think they do.)

Andy hears it differently. "Do you want kitty food, Andy?" he thinks he heard, so he heads for the refrigerator.

"Kitty food! Kitty food! Kitty food!" Andy has his priorities!

Post 1044: Dougy sits high on the walker…

Both Andy and Dougy love to sit on my walker. Both even let me push them around on it, which surprised me. But today, as an experiment, I decided to see if they would use it for backdoor bird watching. Andy didn’t; Dougy did. I think the main problem was both didn’t want to be on the seat at the same time.

Dougy checks out the fir tree, a reliable "bird station".

"Hmm! Not much happening in tghe fir tree...!"

“Hmm! Not much happening in the fir tree…!” Dougy regroups his thoughts about where to look next.

Suddenly, a bird song to the left!

It flew into the apple tree! Dougy's excited now!

Post 1043: Caturday is for the birds…!

Caturday is a good day to watch cat videos!

Here’s an old one of Dougy and Andy at the back door. That’s where they can watch birds and enjoy the scents of the great out-of-doors from the safety of their window seats.

Sometimes things aren’t as obvious as you might think…!

Some days just aren’t right for birdwatching, but the boys make the best of it.

Post 1042: batcat…

Persian kitties have strange faces. Straight on, they look owlish. From the side, you’d think you’d seen a bat.

Batcat!

Batcat!

Post 1041: my little stinker…!

It says a lot about my housekeeping that Andy showed up with a head stripe of dust...!

It says a lot about my housekeeping that Andy showed up with a head stripe of dust…!

Reminds me of the Warner Brothers cartoon that featured the amorous skunk Pepe Le Pew and poor Penelope the cat that accidentally gets a stripe down her back in each cartoon, making her the total focus of Pepe’s amor for four minutes or so. Hilarious!

Post 1040: The fur did fly…!

Andy and Dougy generally get along great. That isn’t to say these siblings don’t get hissy with each other from time to time, and today was one of those times. The fur did fly!

Andy is avoiding Dougy for the time being. Can you say "ailurophobia"?

Post 1039: computer issues…again!

It is tedious using a webcam to photograph kitties. That became necessary when my f drive (the one that reads SDS cards) went belly up a few days ago. I think I will take it down to the shop tomorrow to get it replaced. Shouldn’t be that difficult or take that long, though I could be wrong. Regardless, there may be another little break in my posts.

My laptop’s acting up, too. The cursor pad doesn’t work. The cursor is locked, and everything I’ve found on the problem on the Internet suggests it’s not a laptop problem but a Microsoft OS update problem. One solution offered: toss the laptop because the fixes don’t stick! The other solutions don’t unlock the blinking thing! Another problem for the IT fix-it guy.

Post 1038: Andy plans for Caturday…

Caturday morning and Andy hasn’t committed to anything just yet.

"What to do? What to do?" Andy decides what to do on Caturday.

“What to do? What to do?”
Andy decides what to do on Caturday.

Yeah! Take a look at a favorite video where he gets to play on the table and be a naughty boy. (Dougy makes an appearance, too, but the show is Andy’s!)

Post 1037: a slow morning in Kittylandia…

Dougy walks through the sunlight, changing his many colors of "dark".

Andy just enjoys the sun and a look outside for morning birdies.

I try for one more photo of Dougy. It's a bit more successful, but the webcam cable really, really, really interests my little furball!
