A little public television: Andy watches intently, periodically looking back at me to see if I’m sleeping! He enjoys the program and he gives me blinky eyes!

…Doug watches a program about Miles Davis, one of his favorite jazz musicians. Andy becomes very interested in the program, to Doug’s amazement. He seems to be especially interested in Davis’ “Bitches Brew”…

Post 2166: Louie was bad…

I have no idea why I was cussing Louie out that day. Maybe he was chewing on the flowers. I thought I’d lost this photo, but it popped up on Facebook Wednesday. It is one of my favorite shots of Louie the ginger cat. He was a great kitty, but died of lymphoma on August 1, 2011. As you can see, he was counting on plausible deniability to get out of trouble for whatever it was!

When Andy sees me pick up my smart phone, he expects me to pull up a YouTube cat video. Of course, when I’m trying to catch him doing cat things for this blog, neither of our expectations is met!

What you don’t see is Andy pawing at the smart phone to encourage me to run that cat video for his entertainment. Rawr!

Post 2164: Saki makes herself at home!

My sister still misses her late kitty, Molly, yet has been very pleased with her new shelter kitty, Saki. It seems Saki is very pleased with her new human and home as well. My sister writes:

I was supposed to keep Saki in a separate room for at least a week, but let her out yesterday. I limited her exploring though, closing the bedroom and bathroom doors. She wasn’t nervous at all and claimed the loveseat and window as hers. She went back to her room on her own at bedtime.

I was pleasantly surprised last night to discover that she is a lap cat. She tested me out 1st, standing with 2 legs on my lap, then 3 and finally all, then laid down. She stayed on my lap for an hour until I had to go to bed. This morning she sat on my lap while I watched the news for an hour and was still there after I woke up, falling asleep watching news.

I haven’t heard her purr yet. Both Sox and Molly were loud purring machines. Here is Saki in the “perfect for cats” windows in my living room.

Post 2163: Andy pays attention…

It is no surprise “Animal Planet” is Andy’s favorite station. He even likes “Too Cute” for all the cute puppies.

But he gets really, really, really excited when he sees Jackson Galaxy pop up on the screen because that means one thing ~!

This requires a closer look. The two kitties are fighting each other and Andy thinks he can learn some new moves for the next time Dougy wants the new box first!

I start to take it away, then notice the pet-in-box notice on the bottom. Maybe I’ll get Dougy in the box photos, too!

I’m not compensated for featuring chewie’s box in these photos, though I did send some of these photos in to their Facebook page on the chance it results in a special treat for the kitty boys. As far as they are concerned, Amazon Prime boxes are best, though chewie boxes are fine, too. Well, truth be told, any box is super! They are kitty boys, folks.

Also, Andy has both upper canines. Oftentimes the shape of his lips and the camera angle in some photos give the impression of a missing tooth by hiding one or the other canine tooth.

Post 2158: some agreement between cats…

After chasing each other over territorial squabbles and during playtimes, Andy and Dougy finally settle down for a little snooze. “Better than Greenies,” says Dougy, but Andy thinks not. “Good as Greenies, perhaps, but not better!” Andy asserts, and he is unanimous!

Makes little difference, really. The kitty boys are in REM sleep so fast the discussion is over nearly before it began! No doubt, their sleepy dreams are about Greenies!

(The kitty boys like Greenies, so I mention the treat. I am not compensated to do so, however. I suspect they’d enjoy other brands just as well.)
