Post 1713: moving slowly…

I’ve had a busy week. Dialysis two days, of course, and two doctor appointments. It may seem no big deal, yet it left me knackered! To give you an idea, yesterday was a birthday lunch with friends. I got home around 10:30 AM, sat down, and fell asleep! I woke up at 7 PM, having missed lunch. I watched a little news, then promptly fell asleep again till 3 AM!

(That’s me sitting in the doctor’s examination room. Dougy’s curious about when he will get kitty food.)

I hope I’m back on track by tomorrow!

Post 1712: Andy resists medication…

I caught Andy. He hid under the guest bed, tail hanging out in plain view, of course. I grabbed him as best I could, and he grabbed me as best he could, as you can see in the photos above. No wonder he’s hiding under the table now.

Bad kitty! I hate giving you medicine, too, but you will have to take it as long as you need it! For now, we aren’t talking. The main thing, he got medicated.

Post 1711: civic duty…

IMG_20180417_154341

I hate to interrupt Andy for matters he regards as trivial, but…

IMG_20180417_154328

…I can’t wait to tell him my absentee ballots came today and I’ve just finished voting in the May 15th primary!

IMG_20180417_154533

“So?”

Somehow I thought that might be his reaction. Oh well – woo hoo! – I, at least, know my civic duty and took care of it! The ballots are in the mail.

Post 1710: “And this fellow’s caring for us for life??”

Andy’s incredulous…

…and Dougy’s aghast!

Their human’s had his smartphone for two years, and he just figured out that the part that plugs into the 110 Volt outlet is a transformer, and the cord has a USB connector that plugs into the transformer. He thought he had to charge it on 110 Volts, but could have used one of the USB ports in his car to charge it while on the road. If he’d realized that last September, he would have had a working phone after his encounter with a rock. Geez!

Post 1709: Andy makes selfies…

IMG_20180413_123238

Andy noticed my smart phone charging on the desk by the PC. “Hmmm…!”

Andy tries doing a selfie. “Not bad. Not good either.” Andy may not know a lot about photography, but he knows a lot about cats. “That’s just my eye! I know because I’m a cat!”

“Woo hoo!” Andy declares success. He especially likes how his solemn, thoughtful nature comes out in these two! He notes, too, all of his sides are his best side. So much pulchritude in one cat! Andy smiles.

=(^+^)=

[Come on, folks! You know Andy had some help here! Give me some credit!]

Post 1708: “%^$*%! Leave me alone!”

IMG_20180413_091421

Andy had a busy morning. Time to take a nap! I thought he looked so cute that I wanted a closer photo of him. Of course…

…I woke him up and he was not pleased! After I extricated my hand from his “Murderous Paws of Pitiless Darkness, Blood, and Desolation” ~ whew! ~ I stepped back… passed out from blood loss…um… no, that’s a bit of high falutin’ tall tale telling… stepped back, surprised Andy woke up so… mean! Wow! Sorry, Mr. Kitty!

“Next time I tear it off your arm!”

IMG_20180413_090912

“I’m watching you!”

=(^+^)=

Let this be a lesson: It isn’t only sleeping dogs you should leave alone!

Post 1707: when they were kittens…

Andy at one month, four days. No wonder I said “Yes, I’d like to take him home when he’s ready to leave his mommy!”

Andy’s first day at home with me.

dougy at three months

Dougy’s favorite place when he was a kitten. He’s three months old here.

Of course, you know the top photo of the kitty brothers at about three and a half months old, perhaps the other two, with Andy always on the left.

A few days ago, it was siblings day on Facebook. That was the inspiration for this Caturday post. Andy and Dougy are linked by genetics and the good fortune to be adopted by someone – me! – who wanted the two to be together once they left their mother.

Post 1706: that’s predictable…

What to do? Dougy just finished lunch, so that leaves posing nobly (lower left), resting (upper left), and mad bath taking (right). It’s a kitty boy’s life! All that done, it’s time to play…

…with Mr. Hand!

Post 1705: Dougy hogs it again…

IMG_20180406_023405

Yesterday, you saw Dougy in front of a framed photo of Dougy in a box, classic Dougy stuff. The only thing more classic is Dougy on his ottoman. So, today, Dougy being Dougy, he pointedly re-established his firmest current territorial claim: it is his recliner!

Mine!”

IMG_20180409_031114

Andy is incredulous. Everyone knows the recliner is his.

Doug (The Human) reminds them that when his huge posterior starts to plop down on the recliner, no cat has a claim to the soft, comfy recliner unless he says “please and thank you”! It’s a dog-eat-dog world when it comes to the recliner.

Post 1704: Andy does it from the carrier pile…

Mostly Andy grooms and sleeps on top of the stacked carriers, but that doesn’t mean…

…he can resist an opportunity to get his kitty on! Woo hoo!
