Post 1262: what Dougy does with the recliner when Andy’s out of the room…

The kitty boys love the recliner. It’s big, it’s comfortable, and it is a good kitty highway to other favorite spots in the room. It is only natural they squabble over it and try to make exclusive claims on it!

Andy went back to the guest bedroom, so Dougy quickly abandoned his ottoman to monopolize the recliner.

A quick look to make sure Andy won’t spoil his recliner spiel!

Dougy notices something on the seat. A spider? (Ugh! Hope not!)

Whatever it is or isn’t, Dougy gets his kitty on and pounces!

Whew! Just a litter box pellet! (Huh? That’s icky, too!)

Dougy needs to check for Andy again….

No Andy, so Dougy relaxes a little.

Yes, the kitty boys love, love, love the recliner! So do I.

Post 1261: Andy anticipates Dougy’s next move…

Andy and Dougy keep the peace most of the time, and they accomplish it by minding what upsets the other brother. You know, Andy hopping on the ottoman Dougy claims, for example.

More subtle, just being in the air space claimed by the other brother requires adjustments.

Oh no! Dougy's stopped by the ottoman, and refreshes his marking with vigorous scracthing.

Andy moves over to the other arm. He gets to stay on the recliner a bit longer because he isn’t in Dougy’s air space over there!

.Of course, it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on his brother!

Dougy is comfortable with Andy being where he is.

Dougy hears something only cats can hear, and sits up to try to get a better fix on it. Then he ran off. Andy is safe from Dougy now!

Post 1260: “Scritchaholic”…!

Both the kitty boys know all they have to do to get a good “scritching” is stop by. I am a useful “scritcher”!

This morning, it was Dougy’s turn to satisfy his “scritch” needs. My hand was available.

Post 1259: it is here, ready or not — 2017!

We, the kitty boys and I, slept through the start of the New Year, but were right on track for our standard 1:30 AM kitty food time. Neither Andy nor Dougy would have it otherwise!

Speaking of Andy, he’s not had much presence lately, so today’s montage features Andy, period. Dougy is happy for the rest from posing and acting in blogs. “Gimme a break, man,” he said in Catinese, or so I think.

So what was Andy up to this morning when I photographed him on top of the PC? Trying to avoid me because it was time to give him his medicine, of course! (He was upset, too, because he had a gross eye booger that shows up in the close up, but I caught him before he could “clean up”! )
