Post 1174: Boys, boys, boys! Take turns!

The foot rest on the recliner’s become the latest hot spot for Andy and Dougy. Both claim it. Neither has successfully made it his exclusive spot.

Post 1169: BOO!

Sometimes, when I least expect it, Dougy or Andy sneaks up on me and startles the bejeebers out of me!

Post 1162: a look behind the scenes…

Thanks to Photoshoppery, I manage to get mostly presentable photos of life with the kitty brothers out to you. I decided today I’d show you how much effort it takes to take a typical photo of the boys from “as is” to kind of presentable. It is a horror story!

=(>+<)=

Whew! what a mess! Why didn’t I vacuum first? Or put the over-turned wastepaper basket back up? (Dang cats! There isn’t anything of interest in there!) Should I try for one or two kitties in the photo?

92816 before 2.jpg

Hmm. That cleaned up pretty well, but the background clutter will take some skill I don’t have….

92816 after.jpg

Maybe I can crop it to hell and back and get something…

92816 extreme after.jpg

Oh well. Cropping helped, but  I think that photo is a bit too much to make into a presentable posting photo. I’ll try later for something in a better, cleaner, less cat-ravaged spot!

[And you thought I actually knew what I was doing! Surprise!]

Post 1045: trash diving…

There are certain behaviors I didn’t associate with cats until I got Andy and Dougy. Butt sniffing, for example. They do it, you know! And trash diving…!

Yes, trash diving. The first time I observed this in cats, the bad kitty was Dougy. Then I observed Andy do it. What?!

I hear a rustle on my left...!

I hear a rustle on my left…!

Hey! Hey! Hey! Get out of there, Andy! Kitties don't trash dive! (Well, I don't think they do.)

Andy hears it differently. "Do you want kitty food, Andy?" he thinks he heard, so he heads for the refrigerator.

"Kitty food! Kitty food! Kitty food!" Andy has his priorities!

Post 1008: Dougy ignores the territory of Andy… again!

Andy was elsewhere. Dougy came by the blue carrier and contemplated how nice it would be to get on top of the carrier again. Yesterday wasn’t enough!41216 dougy contemplates a snooze on blue carrier

“Don’t do it, Dougy. Andy is just around the corner.”

You can tell a cat, but not much! OK, Dougy, just you wait till Andy sees this!

There he is. Andy! You’ll see what now, Douglas!

My pretty boy Andy!

Of course, Andy might just not give a hoot today. He hopped up on the computer desk for a snooze.

Post 1007: The kitty boys are back…in photos!

I imagined the worst and the worst didn’t come to be. I took my PC down to the Staples in Scottsbluff this morning, fully expecting to leave it there for a major cleaning. But it turned out the problem was minor, fixable while I waited, and cost me nothing. How good can that be?

Best of all, I can insert videos and photos again. The weggieboy’s blog is whole again! Just for you, here’s Andy looking out the back door from his favorite high spot, the top of my computer.

Well, not his best side, but you get to see a new photo of his just the same. Some things didn’t change during our absence. Andy on the computer is one of those things. He sometimes accidentally turns it on. Or maybe it’s on purpose: It’s one way to get a little heat!

What about Dougy? Once the small settee was taken to the landfill (thanks to naughty Dougy, who torn it to shreds using it as an “illegal” scratching post), I had a new place for the little desk and the blue carrier. Just an aside first, though. Notice the rope on the cat tree is thoroughly used. That’s Andy’s work. He’s the good boy of the two.

Back to the relocated blue carrier, one of Andy’s favorite places to perch. Here’s what I captured on camera today: dougie on blue carrier

Yes, Dougy sneaking a perch while Andy watched out the back door! Some things never change.

Post 957: Night visitor…

I gathered the trash to put out this morning. I don’t like to put it out too early because it might attract critters or too late because it might get missed by the trash collection, which is very early in the morning on Fridays.

When I opened the door, around 3:15 AM, to toss the trash to the curb, I noticed we’d had a night visitor.

Say what?! Puma? Coyote? No, nothing so dramatic. From the size, it had to be one of the feral cats in the neighborhood.

The snow, while not much, was sufficient to capture the evidence of a night visitor.

Dougy makes his escape.

Dougy makes his escape.

That Dougy! Of course he had to slip past me while I took the photo of the pawprints!

There I stood, in a knit shirt, walking shorts, barefoot and my kitty’s making an escape into the bitter cold!

I reached down and put my hand around Dougy’s middle. “OK, snoopy, you’d better come in! It’s much too cold out here for a house kitty. Or me!”

Post 956: Andy is a pill today…

Dougy notices Andy's awfully quiet. "Suspicious! And I should know. I'm a cat."

Well, Andy's no more suspicious than usual. Trust me!

Well, Andy’s no more suspicious than usual.
Trust me! Really! No, seriously! He’s a good boy!

Andy rummages through the trash. Isn't this what kitties do? Dougy guessed right: Andy was up to something.

Post 952: Caturday and it is sunny after a snowstorm….

We had a small amount of snow here yesterday. It was bitter cold, but I only had to go out once to pick up Andy’s medicine refill and some kitty treats.

The little bugger managed to avoid his medicine last night, so, of course, he wasn’t a good boy. Because he wasn’t a good boy, he didn’t get any kitty treats yesterday! (Don’t feel sorry for him. He was a bad boy, after all.)

Andy's "medicine face"....

Andy’s “medicine face”….

Post 943: “Naughty” is his middle name…

Once again, I’ve had to disconnect my webcam cable because Andy found it and thinks it is a chew toy.

Naughty boy!
