Post 1238: observed early this morning…

Boys! Boys! Boys! You kitties better get your act together or Santa will skip you this year!

I try to encourage peace on earth and goodwill to all kitties in this home, but Andy and Dougy continue their recliner war!

Dougy enjoys a quiet moment on the recliner.

Dougy senses trouble in the making: Andrew James Thomas!

.Andy’s minding his own business, mostly!

img_20161212_045324

“Just minding my own business, mostly, Fluffybutt!” Oh dear! Andy called Dougy a name!

“What!? What!? What!?”

img_20161212_050623

“Put up yer paws or shut up, brother!” Dougy’s in a mood now!

Yes, the chase was on! Dougy and Andy settled their dispute, Dougy wandered off to his favorite hidey hole in the guest bedroom, and Andy settled down in the sink in the guest bathroom, where I found him in time to give him his medicine.

Post 1237: a presence hovering above…

I expect it, but guests sitting in the recliner need to be warned of the possibilities for a presence hovering above their heads.

One of them – little devil – likes to pat your head, usually with his claws out just a tiny bit. Ouch!

=(^+^)=

img_20161211_053132

Andy’s over my head. I expect it! (Plus, I’ve been “clawed” before so know how to handle him.)

img_20161211_053154

You stick your hand up to his face and either rub his whiskers or let him sniff your fingers.

Of course, photographing this awkward moment involves some acrobatics on my part to get poorly-focused photos, but you get the idea! Keep it the strategy in mind in case you ever visit us!

Post 1236: something like detente

That recliner’s been a point of contention between Andy and Dougy for at least the past two weeks. It surprised me, then, to witness this tender moment between the brothers. (“Tender” = no fur flying at least!)

=(^+^)=

Hmm. What’s Andy (in front) up to? Kicking tail?

121016-andy-spots-dougy-4-yjpg

Dougy (on seat) would like to know! He sees Andy watching him, and he knows that look! Dougy plans his escape….

121016-andy-spots-dougy2

Amazing! Andy’s letting his sweet brother sleep in peace!

Post 1235: The real Kool Kat! And how he spends Caturday…

You saw what Dougy’s reaction was when Andy surprised him yesterday…! Yeah, and he thought he was cool! Maybe you did, too.

There is a cool cat in the family. Andy. Yes, quiet little Andy!

=(^+^)=

Andy watches the scene from the recliner.

Andy surveys his domain..

Andy watches the scene from the recliner till he gets tired!

Starting to get a bit tired…. Dougy’s nowhere to be seen, yet!

The better to surprise Dougy!

The better to surprise Dougy!

Whew! He moves to the seat, which is a cozy, warm spot both kitty boys love.

Yes, warm and cozy as in "stretch out and get ready for a snooze"!

Yes, warm and cozy as in “stretch out and get ready for a snooze”! Dougy can wait.

Post 1234: “Surprise!”

Dougy is a typical kitty. No matter what happens, well, “I meant that to happen!” Hee! Hee! Like the time he rolled off the ottoman! Yeah, he meant that to happen, too!

But this is another day, the day the piece that broke off the peacock feather stuck to his tail by static electricity. I meant to get a photo of it, but, well, I meant it to happen but it didn’t….

This was another event, after Dougy came back into the living room, looking for the rest of the peacock feather to pounce.

=(^+^)=

La! La! La! Mr. Kool Kat (AKA Dougy) returns to the living room.

Dougy looks around for the peacock feather.

Aha! It's on the ottoman!

Aha! It’s on the ottoman!

What!? What!? What!?

“What!? What!? What!?”

"Andy!" (Dougy is surprised for a moment...!)

“Andy!” (Dougy is surprised for a moment…!)

"I knew he was there!" Yeah, sure, Dougy!

“I knew he was there!” Yeah, sure, Dougy!

Post 1233: Dougy is incredulous…

No doubt about it, sometimes I neglect my kitties to watch an old movie on television. It’s one of my vices!

Dougy tries to understand this obsession, even to the point of watching along with me. He doesn’t, however, get it. “You mean this is more important to you than kitties??”

=(^+^)=

Dougy watches along with me.

I think Dougy might be coming over to my side: Old movies are fun!

120716-d-looks-away-from-tv

He’s having some second thoughts!

120716-dougy-looking-at-me-tv-in-back

“You kidding??” Dougy can’t believe this is more important than kitties!

120716-d-on-otto

“Jeez!” Yep, Dougy is incredulous!

Post 1232: “Take a photo, it’ll last longer…!”

I took Dougy’s photo several times while he relaxed in the recliner. He was not in the mood!

=(-+-)=

Dougy notices something he doesn’t like.

He's a bit perturbed!

He’s a bit perturbed!

"Stop that!"

“Stop that!”

"I mean it!"

“I mean it!”

So Dougy showed tail, then left the room1

Post 1231: Dougy can’t believe I ignore him…

I don’t ignore my kitty boys much. They don’t allow it! There are times, however, when I am busy with my things and I get cattitude if I don’t stop everything to give the boys a scratch or play wand toy games with them.

=(^+^)=

Dougy wants attention.120616-dougy-drumps-along“What? You won’t stop everything and play with adorable me? 120616-dougy-is-upset

Yes, while I was putting this together, Dougy stopped by and was scratching on the glider cushion to make me stop everything to play with him. Remember this photo from an earlier post?

This is a Dougy temper tantrum.

Advice For Cat Owners Of Lost Cats — Katzenworld

By Anita Kelsey – London’s leading cat behaviour councillor (featured photo by ProtectaPet) It’s a cat owners worst nightmare when their cat goes missing. Panic sets in and we feel that our little fur babies will just curl up and die without us. Well, the first thing we need to know is that cats are VERY […]

Post 1230: Are you comfortable, Andy?

I don’t get it. I buy cozy kitty beds for Andy and Dougy, provide them comfortable places to laze, yet they commandeer a magazine I’ve put on the floor for a sleep or…the vacuum cleaner cord, coiled on the floor???

=(^+^)=

What?!120516 use me andy.jpg

Yes, Andy’s resting on the vacuum cleaner cord! He decided to sleep there, too.120516 andy on electrical cord.jpg
