Post 1399: Dougy on the hunt…

Shhh! In this fuzzy photo, I captured the intrepid Dougy on the hunt for the tasty peacock feather! He didn’t take much interest in this end, but…

…when I presented it shaft first, he got his kitty on! RAWR! But…

…he became a lion once he hid behind the comforter!

Post 1398: cat tails…

DSCN0644

I have to start somewhere, and this happens to be my favorite photo of the impressive tail of the late Louie the ginger cat.

Anyone with cats knows their tails are expressive. Louie the ginger cat had a proud, confident tail. This video, which many of you have seen before, shows the many tails of Louie and has a moral since I made the video for the young children of a friend.

Andy, too, has a fine tail!

Not to forget Dougy’s fine tail!

That brings us to the end of this tale. Have a fine Sunday!

Post 1397: Dougy knows how to relax!

Dougy makes the most of rest time. His ottoman rarely gets cold!Occasionally, though, he moves. LOL!

Post 1396: Andy’s wound up tight!

The kitty boys have been playing that game they made up where Andy yowls kitty insults at his brother, and Dougy comes running. Then they chase each other all over the apartment till they are bushed.

This time, Dougy stopped before Andy was through playing, and Andy climbed the screen on the window behind the computer desk, leaped over the recliner, and chased air into the guest bedroom.

Andy ran back into the frontroom, leaped onto the recliner, and this is the look in his eyes:

Post 1395: Dougy suspects I’ve eaten something yummy…!

Dougy’s pretty sure I’m eating something kitty boys like. He demands I let him smell my fingers!

“OK, buster, whatcha eating?” Dougy meows, and I hide the cheese puffs from him while he’s not looking. (I shouldn’t eat them, either…!)

“Hey Dougy! Don’t go away mad, just go away,” I taunt, using the childhood family taunt sure to PO a saint!

Post 1394: all good toys start to bore…

A favorite toy failed to amuse…

Boring!

On the other hand, a mouse toy the kitty boys ignored for years got some play time this morning. Spoiled American kitty cats! Kitties in [an Asian country I won’t name] are supper! Count your blessings!

Post 1393: the “good enough” kitty boy…

First he was all coy and cutesy, Andy was. But I knew what was on his mind: kitty treats!

“But you haven’t let me give you your medicine yet, Andrew!”

I made a move toward him, but he moved farther and farther from me till I was in the dining room. I sat down on a chair by the dining room table. Andy, who’d gone under the table, slowly came out on the other side…

…where he momentarily forgot it was about the medicine, and started his “GIMME MY TREATS!” prance back and forth in front of me! When he came within grasp, I clamped down on his neck and shoulders and snatched him up into the “give the kitty boy his medicine position”…

…which upset Andy enough that he said something very loud and naughty in Catinese! Never mind. I gave Andy his medicine so fast his whiskers braided!

Then he got his treats. He was a “good enough” kitty boy.

Post 1392: What a wonderful day!

Dougy and I had a sweet time with a favorite wand toy early in the morning, and he enjoyed my enthusiastic “Good boy! What a clever kitty!” praise each time he snared the lure as it passed by.

Later, after the sun came up – yes, it was a sunny day! – Dougy lounged on the kitty lounger by the back door and enjoyed the warmth of the sun. I might add, it really, really, really showed how beautiful his ruff is at this point. Dougy and his brother are boy kitties, but I think they are just plain beautiful. Not handsome, beautiful!

Here’s another look at that ruff:IMG_20170514_091452

=(^+^)=

Let’s not forget Andy. I tried to get a photo of him on the walker by the back door, but he was still a bit skittish because of the medicine episode documented in yesterday’s post. (This post and yesterday’s were both put together on the same day.) When I tried to get an angle that shows how pretty he is, he hopped off the little red chair and never did let me photograph him at his best.IMG_20170514_091856

Of course, after I came home after I took a little road trip to dry my car off after running it through the car wash, Andy greeted me at the door, all friendly and loving and huggable! I picked him up three different times, and he love, love, loved me rubbing his whiskers, nose, and tummy! The difference from when I tried to take his photo at a good angle? Beats me!

Post 1391: must be time for medicine…

IMG_20170514_021036

Must be medicine time. Andy’s hiding from me. (Sorry for the photo quality…! Andy’s seeking out all the dark spaces to avoid me.)

IMG_20170514_022056

Under the computer desk now after a short chase. Good move, Andrew James Thomas! You know you can hide in the open there and still escape if I reach in to grab you! (And he did!)

=(^+^)=

The medicine is for high blood pressure, so I try not to turn the chase into a situation that exacerbates the condition. Some irony there! Not to worry, though. Andy can run and hide, but I know the places he goes where he is easy to catch. He’ll get his medicine sooner or later.

=(^+^)=

Captured!

Turned out to be “sooner”! Silly cat! He hid under a chair in the bathroom that had clothes from the dryer on it. He hid his front part, but left his butt end sticking out in the open, a classic Andy mistake. On top of it, the slick flooring meant he couldn’t escape by digging in his claws. So sweet! I hope he never learns!

“What you doing today, Dougy?”

“Oh yeah! Of course!”
